Robert "Bobby" Troutwine
November 26, 1942 - December 20, 2022
Lee's Summit, Missouri - Robert G Troutwine 'Bobby or Bob' 80, passed away peacefully at his home in Lee's Summit, MO December 20, 2022. Memorial services will be held in Lee's Summit, MO from noon - 4pm on New Year's Eve at the home he shared with Jennifer and Don Lee
Bob was born in Streator, IL November 26, 1942 to George D. Troutwine, Sr and Vera (Mills) Troutwine. He moved from IL to the San Fernando Valley, California in the early 50's. Bob had a full life, bowling, riding horses and participated in other Special Olympics events in California
Vera and Bob were inseparable and when they needed to be closer to family, he 'retired' from New Horizons and they moved to Wapello, IA in 1995
After Vera's passing, Bob needed more help and moved to Lee's Summit, MO to live with his niece and nephew, where he was diagnosed with Parkinson's. In MO, he bowled with the YMCA Challengers and met new friends, attended many Royals games, Monster Trucks, demolition derbies, parades and other events as his health allowed. One highlight was meeting Dale, Jr at a car show. The Iowa Hawkeyes held his heart even when his body was in Missouri.
Bob was predeceased by his parents, two brothers, Merle Dean Williams and George Troutwine, Jr. He leaves behind six nephews and nieces and their spouses - Norman (Cindy), Ricky, Leslie, Gerald (Liz), Alan and Jennifer (Donald) along with two Aunts, one Uncle many cousins and great-nieces and nephews and great-great nieces and nephews.
Interment will be in California.
In lieu of flowers, please consider a contribution to the YMCA Challenger program https://kansascityymca.org/ or the Church of the Nazarene in Wapello, IA.
