Your Dad was a great man. He never met a stranger he always saw a new potential friend.
I remember looking back at all of his collections. They all had a story to go with each piece. No one could say they didn't love that man.

"I was graced to be in the presence of Robert "Bob: Umbehocker for over 50 years. He was truly a Gentleman. In all the years I had known Bob I had never heard him talk down to anyone but, only tried to help everyone. He loved his music and in playing it he had all around him enjoying it. A Wonderful human being and musician. God Bless the Umbehocker family and all who new him. He is and will be truly missed. God must have one Great musical group of souls, with him. With Deepest Sympathy, Patricia Ireland(St. Paul, MN)

Margaret and family; We know that God is in control of all things and that He saw fit to take Bob at this time. Even though this is a blessing, it is always difficult to let our loved ones go. I know that you and the family feel deep grief and I want you to know that my sympathy is there with you. As you know, I have been through that valley and I can feel your pain. But God is there to give you strength and comfort as only He can give. He sees your tears, He knows you by name, and He loves you beyond measure! God bless you all. Naomi

When I was a senior at Hopkins High School in 1963, I owned a 1953 Packard with a straight-eight engine. I paid $80 for it at the time. One day a valve broke and it developed a loud knock-knock-knock sound and I didn't have the money to have it fixed. Somehow, through word-of-mouth, a Packard car collector contacted me and offered to buy it from me. I wanted $25 for it but he offered me half that amount - $12.50. His name was Bob Umbehocker and he lived on Casco Point near Wayzata. I reluctantly agreed to sell it to him because I had no other option but to scrap it. In the meantime, I had been driving a 1951 Ford which needed new front shocks. I had recently replaced the front shocks on the Packard with new Sears shocks and as it turned out, they were exactly the same ones that I needed for the Ford. Since Bob low-balled me on the sale of the Packard, I removed the front shocks and installed them on the Ford. Bob came to pick up the car at my parents' house in Minnetonka when I was coming home from school. As I drove west on Excellsior Blvd, I heard a loud banging noise. It was coming from a car driving east toward me and was bouncing up and down in the front like something you would see in a circus. I remember that day as if it was yesterday.
