Robert Valdez Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Jun. 26, 2025.
Robert Maurice Valdez, 75, passed away on June 10, 2025, in Albuquerque, New Mexico. Born on June 26, 1949, in Cimarron, New Mexico, Robert lived a life marked by curiosity, dedication, and quiet strength.

Throughout his life, Robert was known for his insatiable love of learning and a deep sense of wonder about the world around him. His inquisitive nature led him through a diverse and fulfilling career path. He began his professional journey in the aerospace industry, where he contributed to complex and innovative projects. Later in life, he transitioned into healthcare as a patient care technician-a role that reflected his compassion and desire to help others.

Robert's calm demeanor and sharp sense of humor left a lasting impression on those who knew him. Whether offering a thoughtful observation or sharing a well-timed joke, he brought warmth and levity to every room he entered.

Outside of work, Robert was an avid cyclist and runner for many years. The open roads and trails were places where he found peace and joy-pushing himself physically while reflecting inwardly. His commitment to staying active was just one expression of his lifelong pursuit of growth and vitality.

Robert's legacy lives on through his beloved wife, Jennifer (Richards) Valdez; his children: Teresa Reed; Christina Valdez; Mary (Keith) Starr; Rob (Wendy) Valdez; Elizabeth (Jared) Meyer; and stepdaughter Rebecca Howard. Robert had 17 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren. Each carries forward pieces of his spirit-his curiosity, resilience, humor, and heart.

A memorial service was held in Albuquerque, New Mexico.

May Robert Maurice Valdez's memory bring comfort to all who knew him and continue to inspire those whose lives he touched. A Celebration of Life will be held on June 27, 2025, from 02:30 PM to 03:00 PM at Sunset Memorial Park 924 Menaul Blvd NE. Robert's ashes will be scattered in the rose garden
