Van Winkle, Robert "Bob" at 92 years young passed peacefully at his beloved home in Belleair, Florida on Friday, May 26, 2023.

Bob was a devoted Husband, Dad, Grandpa, and Great-Grandpa. Bob was a loving Husband and caretaker to the love of his life, Ellen for 57 years before her passing in 2013. Bob is survived by their three children; sons Gary (Lindi) Van Winkle of Chagrin Falls, Ohio, Schuyler (Dena) Van Winkle of Palm Coast, and daughter Kathy (Chuck) Hendricks of Largo; his second wife of 9 years, Doreen and siblings Carolyn (Phil) Dankworth of Albuquerque, NM, Frank (Barbara) Van Winkle of Marietta, GA and Ron (Ruth) Van Winkle of Fairfax, VA; predeceased by his oldest sister Joan Van Winkle Inch (2015). Bob was a proud Grandpa of his six grandchildren Kristen (Lauren) Hendricks of Largo, Bradley Hendricks of Largo, Jillian (Christopher) Hogan of Richmond, VA, Parker Van Winkle of Austin, TX, Baylie Van Winkle of Chagrin Falls, OH and Kimberly Hendricks of Largo and one great grand-daughter, Natalie Hogan of Richmond, VA.

Bob was a golf enthusiast and enjoyed golfing most of his life. While he enjoyed Belleair Country club, he would always hold a special place for his home club, Shuttle Meadow in Kensington, CT.

Bob was a Patriot. A very proud American and Marine. He was a Veteran and a Purple Heart recipient for his service including a tour in the Korean War.

Bob enjoyed sitting in his barcalounger and watching the beautiful view of Clearwater Bay while listening to big bands play in the background.

Bob was a kind, loving, caring man who will be missed by all that knew him and loved him.

Bob will join Ellen in eternal peace when he is laid to rest at Cedar Hill Cemetery in Hartford, CT. Details of service to come.
