Robert Watson Obituary
He was born in Washington, D.C., on May 24, 1943, and grew up in Riverdale, Maryland, the son of the late Morgan and Dorothy (Crown) Watson. After receiving his bachelor's degree at Georgia Tech, Robert enjoyed a long career with Combustion Engineering as a nuclear systems engineer. He was a parishioner of St. John Church in East Windsor and played the organ at Wesley United Methodist Church for over 10 years. He was active in the Windsor Locks Senior Center where he made many friends. He was very musically gifted, playing the piano and trumpet.
Robert is survived by his two children, William and Erika Watson; a brother, Jim Watson and his wife, Jiang; two sisters, Carolyn Watson and Kathy House; grandchildren, Mario and Gannon Watson; several nieces and nephews; a good friend, Brian Taylor, whom the family extends a special thanks to for his friendship and support for the past several years; and various drinking buddies. He was predeceased by a daughter, Maria Watson and his former wife, Adele Dietz.
A funeral service will be held on Monday, Oct. 25, at 5 p.m. at Wesley United Methodist Church, 55 N. Main St., East Windsor. Burial will be held at the convenience of the family.
In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of Robert may be made to NAMI, 4301 Wilson Blvd. Suite 300, Arlington, VA 22203.
