Bob was born in Colorado Springs, Colo., on June 13, 1972, the son of Robert John Weiss II and Nellie M. (Harris) Weiss, both of Unity. He attended Fairfield schools and graduated from Lawrence High School in 1990.
Bob served as a volunteer driver for Kennebec Valley Community Action Program and the Meals on Wheels Program for Senior Spectrum. He had been a member of the Church of the Nazarene since early childhood and had most recently been involved, with others, in starting the River Run Church of the Nazarene in Detroit. Bob was a member of the Delta Heart chorus group for several years and loved singing on concert tours with them. He was pursuing music ministry and considered his music and singing a passion and a calling from God.
Bob would give positive encouragement to everyone and made sure he always had the last laugh. He loved his family, especially his grandchildren, and had an open heart and door for friends and acquaintances.
He was predeceased by his mother, Nellie M. (Harris) Weiss and paternal grandfather, Robert J. Weiss.
He is survived by his father, Robert J. Weiss II; his wife, Bonita "Bonnie" Weiss; his daughters, Natasha A. Cates and her fiancŽ, Michael Boucher, Jami-Lyn D. (Cates) Young and her husband, John D., and Cassandra T. Cates; grandchildren, Cadience, Krishauna, Alazander, and John Jr.; his sister, Rebekah Ann (Weiss) McKeage and husband, Luke Michael and many other loving family members.
Funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. on Sunday, Feb. 28, at the Fairfield Church of the Nazarene, 81 Main St., Fairfield. A time of fellowship will follow the service.
Donations for the family may be sent to the Weiss Fund, c/o River Run Church of the Nazarene, P.O. Box 88, Detroit, ME 04929.

Nellie and family,
I am so sorry to read about Robert. He had an amazingly beautiful voice when he sang. I remember him coming to the nursing home to sing for the residents and how much they loved to hear him sing. God bless, you are in our prayers.
