Robert R. Wilkinson, 81, of Salisbury, died Thursday, August 14, 2014 at Coastal Hospice at the lake. Born October 21, 1932 in Parksley, VA, he was a son of the late George A. Wilkinson and Stella Ayres Wilkinson. He was raised in Washington, D.C. and the Eastern Shore of Maryland. He served with the Army National Guard and Reserves. He worked in the newspaper business as a master printer throughout his life, and started working for the Daily Times in 1963 until 1996 and went back to work part-time, fully retiring in 2007. The love of his life was his first wife Margie who he was married to for 49 years and who passed away in 2000. Robert is survived by a daughter, Vicki L. Moore and her husband George M. Moore, Jr. of Salisbury, and a son, Robert E. Wilkinson and his wife Donna Shockley-Wilkinson of Parsonsburg; grandchildren, RJ Wilkinson of Salisbury, Christina Wilkinson of Parsonsburg, George M. Moore, III and his wife Michelle of Apache Junction, AZ, Andrew S. Moore of Salisbury, and April Jeeter of Crisfield; great-grandchildren, Valerie, Autumn, Brooke and Nathan Moore, and C.C. Richardson; great-great-granddaughter, Madison-Grace Mares; and one sister, Elizabeth Wilkinson of Salisbury. He is also survived by a sister-in-law, Dee Pruitt and her husband Milton of Salisbury, several nieces and nephews, and his loving cat: Baby. In addition to his late wife Margie, he was also preceded in death by his second wife, Bettie B. Wilkinson in 2007, a daughter, Bonnie Culp in 2002, and Margie Ann Wilkinson in 1991, brothers, William (Billy) Wilkinson, Alex (Buddy) Wilkinson, and Ira (Bunny) Wilkinson, and sisters, Agnes Bright and Etta Mae Outten. A funeral service will be held on Tuesday at 11 a.m. at Bounds Funeral Home, 705 E. Main Street, Salisbury, MD 21804, where friends may call one hour prior to the service. Interment will follow in Wicomico Memorial Park in Salisbury. Please visit www.boundsfuneralhome.com to send condolences to the family.
