Robert Williams III Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Jan. 11, 2020.
SPARTA - Dr. Robert E. Williams III, age 36, passed away peacefully at his home on Jan. 1, 2020.
Born in Denville, he grew up and lived the majority of his life in Sparta. As a member of Our Lady of the Lake Catholic Church, he was an alter server for seven years, dedicated volunteer for church events, and loved Sister Ruth as a grandmother.
A graduate of Sparta High School in 2002, Robert continued his education, earning a bachelor's and master's of science degree in clinical exercise physiology from East Stroudsburg University, graduating summa cum laude. Upon graduation, he was employed by the Veterans Medical Center in Bronx, N.Y., to conduct a three-year research project for disabled veterans.
Always interested in medicine, Robert changed careers and attended St. George's University School of Medicine, graduating cum laude in June 2016. Dr. Williams began his residency in family medicine at Hackensack University Medical Center/Mountainside, but due to medical problems had to postpone completion.
During this time, he volunteered at the Free Clinic in Newton and was an adjunct professor at the County Colleges of Morris and Sussex teaching chemistry, anatomy and physiology. During his recovery from reconstructive pelvis surgery, he worked part-time at Domino's in Andover and was grateful for their wholehearted support and friendship. At the time of his passing, Dr. Williams was looking forward to completing his residency starting in 2020.
Pre-deceased by his father, Robert E. Williams Jr., in 2007, he leaves behind his beloved mother, Agnes T. Williams, of Sparta; his daughter, Gracemarie Williams; and sister Cynthia Hollar and husband, Bill, of Milford, Pa. Also surviving are brothers Darren Reap, of Sparta, and Ronald Reap and wife, Kamila, of Leadville, Colo. He was an uncle to Erin, Ryan, Samantha and Michael.
Private arrangements are under the direction of the Iliff-Ruggiero Funeral Home, 156 Main St. (Rt. 206) Newton, N.J. A memorial Mass will be announced at a later date.

Docta Rob...
I still can't believe you're gone. It feels like just yesterday you were telling the best jokes or giving me advice on my relationship.. you were the best counselor, delivery expert, always knew how to make me laugh especially when you would make jokes in Spanish while others were in ear shot. Still spoke the best Spanish I ever heard without being Spanish. It pains me to know that you've left this earth so young after just making your comeback, but I know that with all of our pain and suffering you are at peace and no longer in pain. I pray that you've found comfort and can finally rest now. I pray your friends and family remember only the good you've brought to their lives. I pray their sadness is washed away by the joy of the man you were in this life and the joy of the ever lasting memories you've created with each and every one of us. I'm sorry I never got to see you once you made your comeback but I know you're up there jumping around acting like a goofball and telling the same old jokes. My condolences and deepest sympathies to everyone suffering at this time. And may you finally be at peace docta rob (my jersey accent)!
Until next time, thank you for being a pure light in this world of dark and may we meet again one day..

Doc Rob was such an amazing and incredible friend and coworker. He was and will always be an amazing man. He was someone I considered a really good friend and who I knew was there to help if I needed it. He always put others before himself no matter what it was. I miss him deeply and hope that wherever he may be, he is happy and carefree now. Rest easy Rob I miss you dearly

I was a student of Dr Williams in 2018. He was the best teacher I ever had, hands down. He was funny and entertaining and somehow made chemistry fun. He will greatly missed. My condolences to the family.

Robbie Williams was a beautiful person inside and out. He was selfless and had so much to offer to the world. He was never afraid of a challenge or hard work. He was very strong in spirit and nothing could keep him down. He had a heart of gold and compassion for all. He brought much joy and promise to all in his midst. Robbie accomplished more in his lifetime of 36 years, than most accomplish living a long life. He will never be forgotten, and we should all continue to pray for the repose of his soul, while asking him to pray for us. He will always be with us in spirit. May the Perpetual light shine upon him, and may he Rest In Peace. Robbie we love you and miss you. Love always, Linda Salmeri

One of the nicest, selfless people I've ever known. He was such a hard worker and always pushed himself past his limits. I will never forget the memories my boyfriend and I shared with him and all the laughter we shared. Was so upset to hear about his passing. Rest in Peace Rob.

I had the pleasure to work with Dr. Williams at the Free Clinic Newton. He was most kind, knowledgeable and professional. I am very saddened by his passing, especially at such a young age.
My thoughts are with the family. I hope that with passage of time, the great memories of him will make the pain more bearable.

Doc Rob, was what we called him at Dominos, he was such an Amazon person, I haven't known him long but it felt like we were friends since childhood.
He went through so much in the last few years, surgery, physical therapy and getting back to walking and working without a single complaint, he was so strong and determined to get back on his feet, and he did it in record time.
Rob, we will all miss you, I can truly say that just by knowing you, being able to call you a true friend made myself and others better, happier people.

To my Gift from God my son Robbie. You were my prodigy and I never could comprehend things you knew and said without being taught them.i called you Vistas as an infant but didnt know why. I do now. You were like a horizon in the distance I was learning from. I knew you were never mine. You called me Agnes when you were only 3 yrs old land I replied I'm your mother" you said but your name is Agnes. I said nothing more. You as a doctor said I was an Atypical patient who did not fit medical criterior. I replied "Physcian Heal Thyself" you laughed. Thank you for your care concern all the work all the years mowing the grass, plowing the snow, cleaning up thousands of leaves. I know I'll never know someone like you again. Such a Gift from God. I will miss you the rest of my days until I see you again. Wait for me in His kingdom. Love is eternal. Your creator is Love personified. Eternally your mother✝✝

Went to Sussex Tech with Rob and he was always one of the most kind and considerate guys! He always knew how to make you laugh and smile. We reconnected years after graduation and he was still the same guy. He loved his daughter so very much! So sad to hear of his passing.. My thoughts and prayers go out to his family

Doc Rob, as we called him at Dominos, was an amazing man. One of the hardest working people Ive ever known. Constantly pushed his own limits to do the absolute best he could. Even after his pelvic surgery, he pushed through his physical therapy because he just wanted to get back to work. To get back to a place he loved to be at...Dominos.

The amazement that we all felt when he walked back in for his first day of return is inspiring. A dream come true for him. The journey to get to that point was truly difficult. And the joy he felt and expressed for this victory was incredible.

Not only was he a hard worker, but a good friend to many. Always available to lend an ear, give medical advice, or just be there. Even through his own struggles, he was there for many on our team who needed a friend. As people come and go in a business they are missed when they leave. This was the deepest cut our store, our family has ever felt. Our friend, our brother will be deeply missed.

All of us at Newton Dominos send our deepest sympathies to his family.
