Robert Willis Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers from Dec. 15 to Dec. 16, 2017.
Robert (Bob) Willis July 21, 1935 - December 7, 2017 It's with great sadness that we announce the passing of Robert (Bob) Willis. Bob passed away peacefully at home. He is predeceased by his parents Samuel and Mary Harriet Willis, his brother Bruce and twin sisters Patricia and Pauline.

Bob is survived and loved by his wife Carol Willis (they recently celebrated their 49th year of marriage) son Cameron (Lori) and daughter Carla (Ryan) as well as 3 loving grandkids Johnathon, Alyssa and Nate. He also survived by his sister Gwen (Thomas) and sister in-law Donna as well as many nieces and nephews.

Bob was born in Regina and was raised on the large family farm just east of Limerick Saskatchewan. Farming was big part of the family business but he decided to leave the farm in the early 50's to pursue a career as an electrician. He proved to be very successful in this field eventually starting his own company in 1980.

Bob met his lifelong partner and best friend, Carol, in 1966 and they were married Nov 2nd 1968, and became parents to two children Cameron and Carla.

Bob and Carol enjoyed traveling and camping as a young family, but in 1978 Bob surprised the family with the purchase of a couple of plots of land at Sorensen beach. Bob and Carol together built a cabin and the beach life became Bob's passion. The cabin remains in the family to this day and was Bob's go to place up until this summer.

Bob was also passionate about quietly helping less fortunate kids and was a member of the Elks Lodge #9 in Regina. He held the position of Exulted Ruler twice and was given the recognition of Life Long Member.

Bob was a quiet, intelligent man, strong in his convictions, but always fair. He never enjoyed the spot light but loved to help people where he could. His love for the betterment of his family was second to none. His enjoyment shone when around his grandchildren or just when his immediate family was all together at the beach or a gathering. As his friends and family knew, he never took himself took seriously and always enjoyed himself at everything he did. He was a good man and will be missed by many.

It was one of Bob's final wishes that there would not be a funeral and we are honoring that wish.

In lieu of flowers we ask that donations be made to either Elks Lodge #9 or the Regina Humane Society.

Dear Carol, Cam & Carla,
I remember Mr. Willis was always kind and helpful. If someone at Sorenson Beach was doing something, Mr. Willis was usually there sharing his time and talents; he earned every one of the many calluses on his hands. But no matter how busy Mr. Willis was, he ALWAYS had time to take Cam and me fishing or water skiing - family came first, bar none. Mr. Willis more than did his bit to make the world a better place; we can honour him by emulating the way he lived. You have earned your rest Mr. Willis. Carol, Cam & Carla - I pray you grieve well and brief, then carry on as Bob would have wanted. Take good care.

Sorry to hear about Bob's passing. We have many fond memories of 20 years at Sorenson's Beach as next door neighbours. We enjoyed many bon fires and corn roasts. He was always ready to give a helping hand and will be sadly missed.

Bob was my first neighbor, and was always a kind and caring friend. I lived next door to him for almost five years, and he was a fixture in the neighborhood. He helped me so many times, and he and Carol were always so kind to me and my family. His kindness and warmth will never be forgotten. My deepest condolences to Carol and the kids.
