Robert Wyman Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Nov. 15, 2017.
Bob Wyman, 58, of Pollock Pines, CA, blessed the world with his presence on November 1, 1959 and passed from his earthly life and into the arms of the Lord on November 14, 2017 at home surrounded by his loved ones. He courageously fought a three year battle with esophageal cancer.

Bob was born in San Jose, CA. He graduated from Santa Clara High School. He then attended an automotive trade school to pursue a career in automotive mechanics. He excelled as a Master Toyota Technician for 33 years. After retiring from Toyota he followed his dream of operating a handy man service, MGB Handyman Services, with his two brothers. For the past four years he worked as a custodian for the Placerville U. S. Postal Service.

He relocated from the Bay Area to Pollock Pines in 1988 because of his love for adventure in the outdoors. As a child he and his family spent many summers camping at Wrights Lake, which is where his love for the outdoors began. Bob loved to kayak, hike, backpack, fish, camp, go off-roading and to capture the beauty of nature with photography all along the way. He was also a skilled wood craftsman. Bob enjoyed listening to music, especially the southern rock band Lynard Skynard.

In 1991, while employed at the Toyota dealership in Placerville, he met the love of his life Mari, a.k.a. Boonie and her two young daughters. Bob took on the role as family man whole heartedly. He was a committed family man, always putting his family first.

Bob, a.k.a. Pa Pa, was a happy, loving, headstrong, venturesome, caring, friendly, spirited, humorous, selfless, pleasing, honest and full of integrity kind of guy.

"Let's go, it's an adventure!" "Get-r-done!" "Do it! Do it now!"
-Bob Wyman-

Bob was a volunteer for the El Dorado County Search and Rescue. He went through extensive training to become a First Responder and Technical Rescuer. He LOVED the Lord. He attended Green Valley Community Church in Placerville. He did missionary work with the church in Washington D.C. to help inner city kids. While attending GVCC he ushered, served in the children's and automotive ministries and organized and led the Hiking Ministry with his wife.

Bob was a loving husband, father, Pa Pa, brother, son, uncle and friend. He is survived by his beloved wife of 26 years, Mari; his daughters and their spouses Reanna and Steve Liddle, Sheri and Katie Renaud; grandchildren Tayla, Kaylee, Emma, Ashlee, and Dylan; mother Margaret Wyman; brothers Mark and Greg Wyman; as well as many nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews and his constant companion, his cat Bella. He is preceded in passing by his father, Vernon Edgar Wyman.

Bob's family would like to extend their heartfelt gratitude to Snowline Hospice, Green Valley Community Church, and his friends and family for all of their love and support.

A celebration of his life will be held at Green Valley Community Church, 3500 Missouri Flat Road, Placerville, on January 12, 2018 at 1:00 pm. In lieu of flowers, please make donations to the Funeral Ministry at Green Valley Community Church or Snowline Hospice. Arrangements have been entrusted to Chapel of the Pines, Placerville, CA.

My Uncle Bob left such an impression on my life starting as early as I can remember. As a very young child, I always looked forward to my Summers, as that meant I would be able to go up to Placerville with my Mom and Dad, and stay with Uncle Bob for at least a week! During that time we would go on outdoor adventures which always included 4-wheeling, fishing, camping at Wright's Lake, hiking Dog Mountain, gold panning, going to eat at "The Forest Buffet" in Tahoe, and getting stuck in the middle of some pretty intense thunderstorms! The list goes on and on. Uncle Bob was a true adventurer, and he loved every minute of it. As I got a little older, he met the love of his life, Aunt Mari, whom I love dearly!!!!!! After I graduated from high school, I went through some rockier times, and Uncle Bob was always there to give me a "pep talk", and remind me of the importance of keeping God at the center of my life. Uncle Bob truly left an imprint on everyone he touched. There is almost not a day that goes by that I don't think of him, and how much I miss him. I love you Uncle Bob! Until we meet again.

Bob Wyman, one of the good guys. Who can understand why he had to leave us so soon? I know as a believer in Jesus I'll see Bob again! I got to know Bob and Mari through their hiking ministry at church. They were the best guides to exploring some of the most beautiful places in the Sierra. I love how after we signed our lives away on the legal disclaimer Bob would gather us up into a circle and pray for each soul that was there before we set out on our adventure. I love how afterwards he would gather us together again and take a group picture. He was a great photographer taking the time and energy to later share his pictures with the group.
We prayed for Bob to beat this terrible cancer, but sometimes the answer to our prayers is no. He fought the good fight. He ran his race well. I'm sure the Lord greeted Bob and said well done good and faithful servant.

Bob and Mari,
Thank you so much for showing some of the most beautiful places to me. I have so many wonderful memories of the time we spent together and the adventures we took. You both are such a blessing. My kids hear Bob and Mari stories as we travel some of the same paths you first showed me. Thank you.

At one of my lowest life points, Bob and Mari kept me going with beautiful hikes I would never have otherwise taken, with loving conversation, showing that they sincerely loved me, and warmth of true friendship. The memory of Bob will always hold a smile for me. Mari, If I could ever return some of the support you gave me, please honor me and let me do so. I love you

Bobby! You taught me how to rock and roll with my first LZ music, and a few other things as well but mostly how to enjoy time with a cousin when we were a little younger. Didn't see each other after reaching are 20's but have great memories at the lake, dealing with your cool brothers and great parents. Still a little pissed off about the time you duped me into taking the first batch of pancakes while camping. You helped me grow up a bit as the not too cool late teen cousin while we were hanging out. A lot of fond memories just hanging out!!!!
Getting rained out of skiing in Heavenly, playing for hours in your back yard and getting in trouble a few times.
I'm sure A lot of people got lucky to meet you and share your good spirit as you became a good man. Thanks for all the fishing time, rock and roll time, camping, hanging out in the meadows.
A LOT of good memories when we were young. Take care buddy.

The LORD has has got himself a Well prepared ANGEL in Bob! It's an honor and a privilege to be able to say BOB WYMAN is a friend of mine. But then how could you not be friends with Bob, all one had to do is to meet Bob. I only wish I could have met Bob earlier in our lives. Though our friendship wasn't nearly long enough, the spirit of Bobs friendship will live with me forever! "What's the word of the day Bob?" Bob was an amazing and kind man that would do anything to help someone. Not only were we fortunate to have him as a neighbor and friend, but Bob also worked at the post office with my husband. Mari, if you need anything at all, no matter where or when, you just let us know. We are keeping your family in our thoughts and prayers. Much love to you all.

When I began thinking about my most memorable memory of Bob, it was challenging because there have been so many wonderful memories with him. I cannot pick just one. All the hiking and camping trips, spending time watching movies, and all the advice that Bob and Mari have given me over the years. They have always been there for me, even at some pretty rough times in my life. My sister was a very lucky lady when she met Bob. I've never seen her more happy. Bob too. One of my favorite memories is when my daughter, Tanya, and I were going up to spend Christmas with Bob and Mari. The whether was extremely stormy and by the time that we got up to the Sly Park exit, there was so much snow that we could not get to their house. Luckily, as we were waiting at Safeway for the weather to clear up, I ran into an old friend that said he would be my shining knight in armor and he would take me to my sister's. So we packed up all the Christmas presents, our luggage, and our dog and he took us in his truck up the hill to their their house on Topaz. We got halfway there and the snow was so deep, we couldn't drive any farther. So we got out and walked through the snow up to their house. We got two sleds and took them back to the truck and put all our packages and luggage on them and pulled them up to their house. There was no electricity, all we had for heat was the wood-burning stove, and we used a Coleman stove to cook our meals. There wasn't any TV, so all we could do was talk with each other. Bob and I went out on the porch to shovel snow and as we shoveled we would talk and take shots of cinnamon schnapps and watch the kids play in snow. We all talked and played games and spent time together. It was one of the best Christmas's I ever had. Bob was one of kind and a special soul and will really be missed by all of us.
