Roberta Michelau Obituary
She married on April 11, 1956 to "the love of her life," only had 13 years with him as he died suddenly in 1969.
She was a loving and devoted wife, mother, sister, Aunt and friend, always putting others before herself. She had the most generous, loving heart and touched many lives with her presence. Her family and friends will always be thankful for the gift that was her life. Roberta especially enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren. They always knew that Nan was there to listen and help them in their times of woe. She was often known to say "My grandchildren are my life."
Predeceased in death by her loving husband George, parents George and Mabel Walters, brother Lloyd Walters and sister Bernice Knee. Roberta is survived by her "heart-broken" daughter Barbara, son-in-law Dave, grandson David, granddaughters Shannon, Amy and Christina, great-grandson Jordan, nieces, nephews, and many other extended family members and friends.
Roberta lived her last few years surrounded by dear friends at Woodhall Park. She was a 'grandmotherly' figure to many of the young staff members and there wasn't one person who didn't know her. She was very active and was elected Vice President of the resident council. A position she took very seriously. If the residents wanted something done they came to Roberta and she made sure that the staff knew about it. It is with deep gratitude and thanks that she was treated so well and was loved by so many at Woodhall Park. Many tears were shed when staff and residents found out about her death.

Dear Barb and family, I have MANY fond memories of Roberta from EPA days. We had many a laugh over a Dubonnet (I think that was her little treat). She once knitted me a gorgeous curling sweater that I treasured. I last saw Roberta at the 1995 EPA reunion in Gander but always thought of her often. She led a wonderful life and you will have millions of great memories to cherish. My thoughts are with you all, sincerely, Norah

I am sadden to here the passing of a very special lady. I have known Roberta for many years during the EPA days. She certainly was a very loving , caring person. Sincere condolence to the family!

We were saddened to receive the news of Roberta's passing and wanted to send along our most sincere sympathies to you, her family. I had the pleasure of knowing Roberta through my years with EPA and recall many good laughs shared with Roberta over the phone, at our conference in Corner Brook, and at Kaegudeck! So many great memories. She was truly a wonderful lady. It has been many years since we were in touch, but judging by the obituary, Roberta continued to live her life for the betterment of others and enjoyed every moment enriched by the love of her family and those around her. A blessed life!
I also extend, on behalf of Harry & Catherine Steele, their heartfelt sympathies. Mr. Steele has, like so many of us, wonderful memories and stories of an efficient, capable lady who put her all into whatever task came her way.
It was our pleasure to have known Roberta and hope, with time, you will find comfort and laughter in the beautiful memories, her legacy.

My sincere condolences to Roberta's family in her passing. I worked with Roberta at EPA in Gander. She was a wonderful lady, very sharp, great sense of humour and always a pleasure to talk to her. All the best to everyone.

To Roberta's family,
I had the pleasure of doing archery with Roberta in Gander when she worked with EPA and I was with AC. We spent some wonderful times together with our archery family. I will cherish those memories forever. May she stay alive through all the wonderful memories that you cherish. Sincere condolences.

My sincere condolences to Roberta's family in her passing. I had the pleasure of working with Roberta at EPA in Gander and then in Halifax from 1983-1988. She was a very special lady. We had a lot of laughs and fun in the office and out of the office. Most memorable was at her EPA retirement party at Kaegadeck, NL. Mr. Steele gave her one great weekend away with around 10 of us girls. So many great memories. God Bless Roberta RIP Jo-Ann Stead
