Roberta Ransom

Norfolk - Roberta Ransom passed away in her sleep on July 8th 2015 after a long battle with dementia. She was born in New Albany, Indiana on April 1, 1930 and moved to Virginia after meeting her husband who was stationed at Ft. Knox, Ky. She was a very talented seamstress and spent many years as an employee of Hogshire Industries in Norfolk where she met her long-time companion Stephen Langford. She enjoyed family most of all and is pre-deceased by two of her sisters and one brother. Family vacations were spend locally with everyone visiting her home for trips to Sand Bridge, steamed crabs, and cold beer.

She leaves to cherish her memory three sons and their families. William and Marsha Dillman of Toledo, Ohio, John and Angie Ransom of Va. Beach, Va. and George Ransom of Va. Beach, Va. Granchildren Jon Ransom, Corey Ransom, Jeffrey Dillman, and Jenny Ward, and 4 great-grandchildren.

A special thank you to the wonderful and caring staff at Commonwealth Memory Care in Norfolk, Va. where she spent the last 14 months of her life.
