Roberto Sandoval Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Apr. 26, 2025.
Roberto Sabino Sandoval, 71, passed away peacefully on April 21, 2025, in Mesa, Arizona.

Born on November 28, 1953, in Aurora, New Mexico, Roberto grew up surrounded by a large and loving family. Throughout his life, he embodied kindness, quiet strength, and unwavering support for those around him. Though he was a man of few words, his actions spoke volumes-he was always present when it mattered most.

Roberto shared a beautiful life with his beloved wife, Luisida Sandoval. Together they raised three children: Carlos, Loraine, and Roberta. His legacy continues through his cherished grandchildren-Oriana, Kobe, Antonio, Marcos, and Jovani-and his great-granddaughter Aleena. Family was the cornerstone of Roberto's life; he found immense joy in weekend gatherings filled with laughter and love.

He is also remembered fondly by his siblings: Teles and wife Rose; Mary; Lupe and husband Archie; Ernest and wife Germaine; Albert and wife Susan; Ricky; and Jennifer. Roberto was preceded in death by his parents, Elfigo and Estefanita Sandoval; as well as his sisters Sylvia Madrid and Rosina Timmons (Aguilar).

Roberto lived many years in Liberal, Kansas working at the local packing house and the school district. He moved to Arizona in 1996 and worked for the City of Chandler. During his time at Chandler, he cared for the parks and taught others the value of cultivating beauty. Throughout the years he met many people that became lifelong friends before he retired in 2018.

A man of many passions, Roberto was an avid comic book reader with a special admiration for Superman. His love for Marvel comics fueled countless hours of reading and collecting over the years. He was also a devoted fan of wrestling and cheered enthusiastically for the Kansas City Chiefs every season. Traveling brought him great happiness-especially when shared with family-and he treasured every new experience they encountered together.

Roberto's mischievous sense of humor lit up every room he entered. He had a unique gift for making people laugh effortlessly while serving as a quiet role model to his children, grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and colleagues alike. His steady presence offered comfort and inspiration to all who knew him.

A memorial service to honor Roberto's life will be held on Friday, May 23, 2025, at Resurrection Catholic Church located at 3201 S Evergreen Rd., Tempe, Arizona 85282. A Rosary and Eulogy will begin at 9:30 AM followed by the Memorial Mass from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM.

Roberto Sabino Sandoval's memory will live on in the hearts of all who loved him. May his enduring spirit, example of kindness and loyalty continue to inspire all who were fortunate enough to know him.

My deepest condolences to the Sandoval Family. Roberto was such a hard worker and laughed at all our craziness at Parks. He always spoke of his wife, kids, and grandchildren. He was a proud husband and father and it showed. Roberto will be missed.
