Robin Louise Macknicki

July 11, 1960 - June 12, 2024

Robin, 63, of Vernon, Connecticut passed away after a brief hospice at the hospital on June 12, 2024

Robin was born in Newport, Rhode Island and grew up in Pawtucket. She graduated from William F. Davies Vo Tech High School. An adventurous young woman, Robin lived in Florida, Louisiana, Nevada, and New York before returning to her cherished parents, David and Louise Bowes, in Norwich, Connecticut.

In 1994 she married Joseph Macknicki. For the next 30 years they shared a home in Vernon, Connecticut. Robin was a faithful and loyal wife.

Robin worked in hospitality service. Never afraid of hard work, she always contributed to her family, most notably while her husband earned his college degree. She was an American Legion Auxiliary Unit President, Unit 14 in Rockville, Connecticut. Veterans and animals were two of Robin's most charitable causes.

Robin enjoyed gardening, camping, fishing, and crafts. Etched glass and mirrors were her specialty.

She was well liked in the community. During any encounter, Robin's smile and charm would quickly win one over. Her sense of humor, compassion, fidelity, and unfiltered honesty made her a valued friend to all.

Robin is survived by two sisters, Stacey Cuevas and Katie Claudio, a brother, Wayne Brean, their families, and her husband, Joe.

A private remembrance will be held for Robin.
