Robin Thim Obituary
Robin honorably served in the Air Force from 1955 to 1959, in the Air Police. After his military service, he joined the Tucson Police Department, rising to the rank of Sergeant. He was a lifetime member of the Fraternal Order of Police ,served as president for Lodge 1 (1973) also served on the Public Safety Retirement Board. Beyond his service in law enforcement, Robin was an entrepreneurial spirit, founding and operating multiple businesses including Thim Insurance, Thim Utility Co., Thim Water, and Diablo Water Co. He also contributed his expertise as a board member of the Traffic Survival School.
Robin was a creative businessman known for his loyalty, generosity, optimism, and forgiving nature. He was a trusted friend and a loving family member, survived by his spouse Mary, siblings Niles and Chuck, and many nieces, nephews, step and in-law relationships, along with their spouses and children and many friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, Grace and Hans.
A service to honor Robin's life will be held at East Lawn Palms on Thursday, August 1, 2024, at 9:30 AM. In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to FOP Lodge 1 in Tucson, AZ, honoring his lifelong commitment to the brotherhood and community service. Robin's legacy of service and kindness will be remembered by all who knew him.

Rob was my Sgt. too on TPD with Bob Fund and others from 1974-1979. Great supervisor that actually made me look forward to going to work. He was not only a great boss but he became a great friend that I continued to see for 51 years. Gonna miss my friend. He set a great example for focus on work done the right way. I know I was a better officer and better person for having known him. Rest in peace, my friend.

Rob was my supervisor at the Tucson Police Department from 1974 to 1979. As a young police officer, I found that Rob was a gentle but firm guide. His quiet demeanor and wisdom were instrumental in developing my police career. Rest in peace, my friend and mentor.

We were in Ag class together & Rob Had a 34 ford coop that needed some welding & other work done and the Teacher asked us what the plan for your project? Rob responded we are going make tractor out of it. He did let us proceed however it never did pull a plow. Rob seemed to always have the resolve for his intended purpose!

Robin and I were classmates at Enumclaw High school & we became friends immediately he being just 8 days older than me I realized his wisdom & leadership potential at least in questionable juvenile pursuits. He was a mentor, after graduation & working for a year he said let's join the Air Force. so we did and took basic together but when he chose Air police I wanted stay a bit more practical. His entrepreneurial spirit was obvious to me! it was my grateful honer for him to state that I was his best friend!
