D'ANGELO ROCCO JOSEPH, Sr.
Age 59, of Glenshaw, surrounded by loving family, transitioned peacefully from this life on December 16, 2016, following a three month courageous battle with cancer. Loving husband of Kimberly A. (Ferraro) D'Angelo for 36 years; and proud father of his only son, Rocco J. D'Angelo, Jr. (Marlene); beloved son of Anna (Ierovante) and the late Vincent D'Angelo; wonderful brother of Linda Hilinski (Mike) and Anita D'Angelo. Also surviving are mother-in-law, Catherine (Violi) Ferraro; sisters and brothers-in-law, Carol and Tom Hoburg, Janice and the late Donald Hulbert, Kathleen and Louis Meyer III; "favorite" uncle and great- uncle of Carl, Beth and Peter Hoburg, Greg and Ursula Hoburg, Jonathan, Christina and Harper Hoburg, Dawn Romitz, Dana, Scot, Evan, and Nina Pietrzak, Meredith, Steven, Caden and Maya Cooper, Monica Meyer (Brandon), and the one and only Marissa Hilinski. Rocco cherished his relationships with special aunts and uncles, cousins, lifelong friends and strangers on the street. He was known for greeting everyone with a "How you doin'?" followed by several stories you may have heard at least once before. After graduating from Robert Morris University Rocco began his professional career with the United States Postal Service in 1979 and retired as the Postmaster of Pittsburgh in 2010. He took pride in being a friend, mentor, leader and managed with respect and caring for everyone who crossed his path. Following his retirement his sunny days were spent on a number of golf courses sometimes playing and always laughing and talking. As an employee of Pittsburgh National and Fox Chapel Golf Club the friendships along the course were always bogey free. His other passions included golfing with Rocky, enjoying all sports, "working out" at LA Fitness, antiquing with Kim, traveling and sampling fine Italian foods along the way. Rocco was a devout Catholic and a member of St. Bonaventure Parish and enjoyed listening to faith filled music until God called him home. Family and friends will be received on Monday, December 19, 2016, at "High Noon" until 9 p.m. at WORRELL FUNERAL HOME, INC., 820 Main St., Sharpsburg, PA 15215. A Mass will be celebrated at St. Bonaventure Parish, 2001 Mount Royal Blvd., Glenshaw, PA 15116 at 10 a.m. Tuesday, December 20, 2016. Interment will be private. In lieu of flowers, the family has requested donations be made to Rocco's favorite charity, St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105, online at stjude.org, or by phone 800-805-5856.

Kim, Barb and I are so sorry to hear about Rocco, I just found out today from a friend of mine, I don't get the newspaper anymore and don't walk much in Sharpsburg due to illness, but we are truly sorry to hear this. Rocco was a dear friend and always would take the time to stop and ask about my health when we would run into you guys in a store or somewhere else. I feel so bad that I didn't know he passed away or that he was ill. Please accept our deepest sympathy and know that he will be truly missed.

My deepest condolences. Rocco was my boss, mentor, and most of all...my friend. Rocco had that charisma that everyone cherished and respected. Rocco would light up the room when he walked into it. Kim, Roc, Aunt Annie, Linda, and Anita,

There are no words to express my deep sadness. Rocky was the light of every room he entered into. I will cherish every "bear" hug, funny story, and large smile that my gregarious cousin gave me. We are all better because he was a part of our life. Know that he loved you all very much. He often said that he was the luckiest man in the world because he was a part of a great family. However, it was all of us that were lucky to have had him in our lives. Rest in peace Rocky. We will never forget you!

Love you all,
