Rocco Fabiano Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Sep. 26, 2025.
Rocco A. "Rocky" Fabiano, age 85, of Weymouth, formerly of Braintree and Quincy, died peacefully, Wednesday, September 24, 2025 at the Massachusetts General Hospital in Boston, surrounded by his loving family.

Rocco was born in Quincy, to the late Jennie B. (Barone) and Rocco A. Fabiano. Raised and educated in Quincy, he was a graduate of Quincy High School, Class of 1958. Rocky lived in Weymouth for twenty years, previously in Braintree for forty years. He was also a winter resident at Crystal Lake Resort in Naples, Fla. for twenty-five years where he and his wife, Carolyn, were involved in community events, cooked for the residents, and made many wonderful friendships.

He served in the U.S. Army Reserve in the early 1960s.

As a teenager, Rocky worked at John's Fruit Store in Quincy at Dobles Corner, Franklin and Water Streets, always with the idea of purchasing the store. His dream came true in 1967 when he took ownership of the business. As the new owner and operator of John's Fruit Store, business prospered and he expanded next door by opening the Sub Corral which became a well-known eatery for many years. Eventually his son, Anthony, joined the business and became the general manager.

Following the tragic loss of his dear son, Anthony, in a skiing accident in 1985, Rocky refocused his career and in February of 1986, with his twin daughters, Annette and Anita, established Fabiano Florist in Quincy which became a tremendous success. In operation for thirty-nine years, they have provided joy and comfort for their clients on special occasions, anniversaries, holidays, and for weddings and funerals.

Rocky was a motorcycle enthusiast and enjoyed motorhome travelling. He loved to cook and relished hosting family and friends for delicious homemade meals. He took great comfort in the company of his French Bulldog, Kobe.

Most of all, Rocky was devoted to his family and was especially proud of all his cherished grandchildren, actively supporting their many activities and accomplishments. He was a special mentor, advisor, and bookkeeper for his grandson Anthony's startup company, DiNatale Landscaping in Weymouth.

Beloved husband for sixty-three years of Carolyn J. (Magri) Fabiano.

Devoted father of twins, Annette Fabiano-Holmes and her husband William, Anita DiNatale and her husband Christopher Birch, and Alicia Fabiano, all of Weymouth, and the late Anthony R. Fabiano.

Loving grandfather of Joshua, Jessica, and Samantha Holmes, Anthony DiNatale, Alyssa and Tayla DeLue.

Dear brother of Carmelo A. Fabiano and his wife Sandra of Taunton, the late Nicholas J. Fabiano and his surviving wife Ann of Wakefield.

Much-loved uncle of Lauren Luttrell and her husband Paul of Plymouth. Rocky is also survived by many other nieces, nephews, and their families.

Visiting Hours will be held at the Sweeney Brothers Home for Funerals, 1 Independence Avenue, Quincy, on Monday, September 29, from 3 - 7 p.m. Relatives and friends are invited to attend. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated in Saint John the Baptist Church, 44 School Street, Quincy, on Tuesday, September 30, at 10 a.m. Interment with military honors to follow at Blue Hill Cemetery, Braintree.
