Dear Mrs. Lankler and Family,

I am so sorry to have just learned of Rod's passing. Please accept my condolences. I was fortunate to have worked for Rod when he was Chief Assistant in the Special State Prosecutor's Office led by John Keenan. Rod was a mentor and a good friend to me, really a guardian angel, for decades. He encouraged, and I think advocated, for my becoming a judge. He was always a shining example to me of what is best in our profession, and I am so grateful to have known him and learned so much from him.

Sincerely,
Marcy Kahn

I´m so sorry to hear of Rod´s death. He was one of the people who trained me when I first went to work in the Manhattan District Attorney´s office. He was always available when I had a question and I learned an extraordinary amount from him.

In the 1950's, Rod spent his summers on Quaker hill in Pawling, New York. During the summer months his father, Dr. Ralph Lankler was the minister at Christ Church on Quaker Hill. Rod was a few years older than I was but I remember him well. We reconnected in 2011 when we worked together on the Building Committee for a new Transfer Station to serve the towns of Sharon and Salisbury, Conn. It was great to see Rod again. He was a kind, knowledgeable person who had led quite a life. Patty and I send our love to the Lankler family.

I was very sorry to hear of Rod's passing and I offer my sincerest condolences to Barbara and his family. I will always treasure his mentorship and support of me those many years ago in the Manhattan District Attorney's office and always remember his great smile as he greeted me, saying "Action Jackson". God speed my friend and see you "on the high ground" Jack Frost

Mrs. Lankler

I was most sorry to learn of your husband´s passing. Please accept my condolences for your and your family´s loss. Please know that you all, and especially Mr. Lankler, are in my prayers.

Much can and should be said about what a fine person your husband was - personally and professionally. To me, he was a gentleman. He was, simply, a "good guy."

Ave atque vale.

Tom Curran.
