Funeral services for Rodger Bratton Sr., will be held 10:00 AM, Thursday, December 14, 2023, at Riser Funeral Home in Olla, Louisiana with Rev. John Norwood officiating. Interment will follow at Little Star Cemetery, Holum, LA, under the direction of Riser Funeral Home. Visitation will be held 5:00PM to 8:00 PM, Wednesday, December 13, 2023 at the funeral home in Olla. Rodger Lee Bratton Sr., was born to the union of his parents, Millard Bratton and Wanda James Bratton, on October 6, 1947, in Columbia, Louisiana and he passed from this life December 9, 2023, in Alexandria, LA. Rodger was in the Air Force and served our country for twenty-one years before he retired. He was down to earth, a cross country truck driver, and a coffee drinker who enjoyed "shooting the bull". He enjoyed riding motorcycles and shopping at Sam's. Rodger loved his family, animals, and definitely his grandkids. He took pride in them and he will be missed so much. Rodger was a member of Steel Horse Ministers of Olla, LA, and a founding member and beloved elder of Straight Road Full Gospel Church in Olla. Rodger was preceded in death by his parents; two sisters, Shirley Bratton and Wanda Sue Ford; and a brother, Douglas Bratton. Those left to cherish his memory are his wife of fifty-two years, Janet Cassels Bratton; three sons: Rodger Bratton, Jr. (Christina), Matthew Bratton (Anne), and Tyler Bratton; grandchildren: Brooklyn Wyant (Kane), Daley Jordan (Cory Holten), Kirsten Cain (Dillon), Kelsey Clark (Matthew), Destin Bratton (Celeste), and Mead Hess Jr.; thirteen great-grandchildren; three brothers: Millard Bratton (Pat), Larry Bratton (Mel), and Paul Bratton (Pearl); and a host of nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers include Matthew Clark, Dillon Cain, Kane Wyant, Cory Holten, Deston Bratton, and Mead Hess, Jr.
Honorary pallbearers are Mitch Bratton and Jonathan Walton.
