Rodney Wayne (Rod) Merriman, age 53 of Warren County, IN, passed away at 12:08 a.m. on Thursday, February 9, 2023, at Ascension St. Vincent Williamsport Hospital.
Rod was born on June 2nd, 1969, in Plymouth, IN. He was the son of Janet K. Payne and Donald W. Merriman. Rod was a 1987 graduate of Seeger High School. He was a Warren County resident for most of his life. Rod worked for Mark Tanner burying telephone lines, then later found his god given talent of custom woodworking. After discovering this passion, he started his own business, Merriman Custom Woodworking. His work turned countless houses into homes. Rod always found a way to bring love, laughter, and happiness into this world and to everyone around him, his music being one of several ways. It’s been said that things accomplished here on earth is not what matters, its how you made people feel… how proud we are that Rod accomplished BOTH!

So many memories of Rodney and so many happy times at family gatherings. Things happen that you can’t control and Rodney was a trooper through it all. We will miss him and know that he is in a better place nowfishing, hunting, and doing his carpentry.

It saddens me to read this about Rodney. I rode the same bus as Roy and Rodney when younger, such nice pleasant young men. Rodney had purchased the old farm house that I grew up inmemories.
