Rodolfo Henderson Obituary
Known as "Rudy" by family and friends, his ministry began in the early 1970's. Rudy married Collette Kelly on January 29th, 1971, and together they began serving the Lord as their family grew to include four sons. They started a small church; caring for and loving their congregation with everything they had. Rudy always cared deeply about his ability to impact those around him and showed the love of God throughout his career as an East Lansing High School media teacher, a librarian for the Michigan Department of Corrections, and a video production supervisor for the State Senate. He retired from the State of Michigan Senate in 2014.
Rudy was preceded in death by his mother, Amparo Henderson, father, Santiago Henderson, his grandparents, Jesus and Fela Castro, and his very dear uncle and aunt who helped raise him, Consuelo and Jesus Perez.
Rudy took his final breath under Hospice care at home on May 1, 2016 and leaves many to cherish his memory; his loving wife Collette Henderson of 43 years, Paul (Holly) Henderson, David Henderson, Daniel (Amy) Henderson, and Joshua Henderson; grandchildren: Tess, Taitum, Davin, Auden, Adrian and Brennan, brothers: Jim (Margie) Henderson, Joe (Yesenia) Henderson, Osbaldo "Frank" ((Dayra) Henderson and sister Livia Henderson (Johnny) Guevara.

My condolences to Rudy's wife and family.
I knew Rudy in my early childhood attending school with him at Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic School. I spoke with Rudy about 4 years ago asking him to attend our reunion with the IHMS Class of 1966. Rudy was not able to do so but our memory of Rudy was so clear. I know I saw Rudy as a caring person even when we all were so young (4-9 years old). Rudy said he may surprise us one day and look us up.
Now again we are planning for our 50th reunion from IHMS. Rudy will be with us in spirit, enjoying himself listening to us converse with one another. Rudy, you are HOME! I graduated ELHS in 1989. I did a special studies Library class that included about a month of 1 on 1 instruction with Rudy, working closely with him side by side. I was young and had a head full of countercultural ideas; I remember Rudy was amused and incredibly patient with me when I believed I knew more than him. I learned so much from Rudy, and loved working with him. His love for his family, and his community came through in everything he did. I later took his TV Production class, and continued to enjoy working with him. Years later I was working at a video production house in Lansing, and Rudy came in to have some dubs made. He was shocked to see that I had become a video professional! I had always assumed our paths would cross again. Thank you, Rudy, for all you taught me. My thoughts are with his family at this difficult time.

My prayers and condolences to Collette and family.
I graduated from East Lansing High School in 1991. Rudy was instrumental in teaching and guiding me in television production. He was always passionate about the industry and certainly made it easier to understand the TV production process. He will be missed.
