Roger Alan Birx

Roger Alan Birx, 59, of 414 Carol Drive, Piedmont SC, passed away on April 21st, 2018. He was the son of Regis Fredrick "Jack" and Doris Geraldine "Jerry" Birx.

Alan worked with 3M (Donaldson Center) in the Chemical Engineering Department (the Tape Plant) for 41 years. He loved spending time with his three sons. His passions were the game of chess, rock collecting and coins. He enjoyed outdoor activities. Alan graduated from Woodmont High School (1976); Anderson College (1978) and Greenville Technical College. Alan was a member of Reedy Fork Baptist Church, Greenville SC for over 40 years.

Alan is survived by three sons, Chandler Matthew Birx, Ethan Spencer Birx and Harrison Edward Birx of Piedmont SC; his mother, Jerry Birx; sister, Karen Moseley (Bobby) of Mauldin SC.

Alan is predeceased by his father, Jack Birx and grandparents, Otha & Anne Stairley.

A funeral service will be held Friday April 27th, 2018 at 11:00 am at Reedy Fork Baptist Church (459 Reedy Fork Road Greenville SC 29605) at the corner of Reedy Fork Road and Blakely Avenue.
A visitation will be held the night before, Thursday April 26th, 2018, from 6:00 - 8:00 pm at Mackey Mortuary (311 Century Drive Greenville, SC 29607).

A committal will follow the service at Greenville Memorial Gardens Mausoleum (7784 Augusta Road, Piedmont, SC 29673) on Hwy. 25 South.

Pallbearers are Chandler Birx, Ethan Birx, Harrison Birx, Michael Keller, Walter Payne, Johnny Tate & Michael Griggs.
