He could banter with the best of them. The best sense of humor, the biggest heart and a passion for cooking. If I had to describe him 2 words they would be, genuine and authentic. As always, thank you for your service. Semper Fi!

In 1967 my Marine unit was deployed to Da Nang, Vietnam. It was there that I first got to know Roger. We were there during the infamous 1968 Tet Offensive. In late 1968 we returned to the U. S. and were assigned again to the same unit. After our release from the Marine Corps, Roger moved back to Seattle and I stayed in SoCal. A few months later, I was laid off from my job. Serendipitous, the very next day I received a phone call from Roger just checking in with me. He invited me to come visit for a couple weeks, which I did. Roger and Melanie were gracious to let me stay with them. In the end, I lived in the Seattle area for 29 years and our friendship remained all that time and until the end. Roger and Melanie were present at my wedding and I have been married to my wife Donna for more than 50 years. As we raised our families, worked our jobs, went through all the ups, downs, and changes in life we stayed in contact. Roger was kind and interesting and is in my heart always. David Dungan

Rodger, Christiansen and I have known each other since we were eight years old in Cub Scouts. I played quarterback and Rodger Christiansen was my left guard. I always knew I could roll out left and never worry about the Defense getting me , Rodger could take on three guys at the same time. We were in college together, and he would never let me look at his paper to cheat on exams, but I still love him anyway, We spent many years many years Together in eastern Washington and we even stayed at my son Blake´s home several times during Elk season. I will miss you dearly Rodger for being my friend and my mentor always your buddy Greg Hale

I first met him when I was in high school and worked at Biddle. Years later I met him again through the program. He was always there no matter what. He was a great man.

I met my Uncle Roger when I was 19, after finding my birth family, specifically, my Dad Steve, Melanies' brother. I always loved how funny and genuinely kind he was. I felt like I had known him all my life. His dedication and pride in his family was ever present. He was always my favorite Uncle and I will forever cherish the memories I have of him. I love you Uncle Roger. Your neice, Donna

My first meeting with RC was when Brooks Biddle hired me as Finance Manager for the Chevy store. I don't think that Brooks had consulted with Roger about me, so I think that I was a surprise!
We both kind of appraised each other and realized that we would be able to add to each others strengths and improve our weaknesses.
I loved working with RC and seriously looked forward to the days that we would work together on the same shift.
We all could fill volumes with our experiences with Roger, and all would be fun and interesting . . . . with most of us saying, "Gee, where do I start?"

Roger has been a wonderful example a father/family figure for our son Paul and grandson Olin. He has left them with wonderful memories and love.
