It is with great sadness that we announce that Roger Falk died on Friday, July 25, 2014 after suffering a fall from which he did not regain consciousness. Roger drove more than 25 accident free years with Calgary Transit, and survived prostate cancer for 10 years; retiring to spend more time enjoying his passions for fast cars and motorcycles, including long road trips to races and enjoying exploring small towns and out of the way places along the way. He loved music of all types, especially classical, and photography, amusing us with his 35 mm selfies, invented long before the internet made it popular. He was intelligent and quirky, funny and somewhat cynical and an endless source of arcane trivia. He was always curious about others' lives and enjoyed being a volunteer driver for the Cancer Society. Predeceased by his parents Dave and Joyce, Roger is survived by Andi, his wife of 40 years; his son Flash (Heather) Bartnek; his brothers, Alan (Trudy) and Colin (Adrienne); and by numerous nieces, nephews and grandchildren. His daily lake walks will be greatly missed by his pal Odis. The family would like to especially thank Dr. Doig and the nurses and staff in Foothills ICU Pod A for their compassionate care and kindness. Funeral Services will not be held, however a Memorial Service will be held at a later date. Condolences may be forwarded through www.mcinnisandholloway.com.
