Dale Jensen, 88, of Kasson, passed away Friday, May 1, 2015, at his home in Kasson surrounded by his family.

A memorial service will be held Tuesday, May 5, at 1 p.m. at the Pleasant Corners United Methodist Church, 21927 650th St. in Kasson, with Pastor Joel Xavier officiating. Visitation will be on Tuesday from noon to 1 p.m. at the church. Burial will be in the Maple Grove Cemetery, Kasson. Military graveside services will be conducted by the Kasson American Legion and the Mantorville VFW.

Dale Jensen was born Feb. 22, 1927, in Alden, to Peter and Opal (Tapp) Jensen. The family moved to Kasson in 1938. He graduated from Kasson High School in 1945. He served in the Army from 1945-1947 with duty in northern Italy. He was united in marriage to Wilma Helland in Dodge Center on May 28, 1950. They lived on their farm near Kasson for 42 years. He farmed most of his life and had several other jobs.

Dale was a member of the Kasson American Legion for 68 years and went on the Honor Fight to Washington, D.C., in 2008. He was a longtime member of the Pleasant Corners United Methodist Church in rural Kasson. Dale enjoyed time with family and friends. He continued to enjoy working with other farmers after his retirement and spending time with his wife gardening and enjoying the flowers. Dale also loved to watch old western movies.

He is survived by his wife of 65 years, Wilma; son, Alan (Connie) Jensen of Apple Valley; daughters, Nancy (Matt) Kleeberger of Kasson, Linda (Robert) Schwirtz of Bloomington and Marie (Knute) Hegna of Little Falls; grandchildren, Melinda (Dave) Decker, David Jensen, Brian Jensen, Shianne Kleeberger, Katie Kleeberger, John Schwirtz, Opal Schwirtz, Andrew Hegna and Eric Hegna; four great-grandchildren, Luke, Braiden, and MacKenzie Decker and Kale Hegna; one brother, Marlin (Joyce) Jensen.

He was preceded in death by daughter, Karen; grandson, Karl Hegna; four brothers, Russell, Gordon, Richard and Lloyd.

In lieu of flowers, memorials gifts will be distributed by family choice.

Dibble Funeral Home and Cremation Service in Kasson is in charge of arrangements.
