Roger Dale Kuykendall

It is with great sadness we announce the passing of Roger Dale Kuykendall on Saturday November 4, 2023, at his home with loved ones at his bedside. Those who knew Roger, even just a little, lost a shining light in their lives.

Mr. Kuykendall was born on April 16, 1954, in Corsicana, TX. to the late J.D. and Louise Kuykendall and his biological mother Peggy Zene Kuykendall. Just out of high school Mr. Kuykendall joined the Airforce and served his country from 1973 until 1977. After returning home he lived most of his life here in Corsicana. Roger was one of those people that never met a stranger and was always willing to help others. Roger loved people, especially children. If there was a baby around, you can bet he would be holding it within minutes. Another thing he loved was his Dallas Cowboys. He never missed watching a game so he could root for his favorite team whether it was a win or a loss, they were his team. Roger worked for Chevron for 37 years in Corsicana and followed the company when they relocated to Waxahachie, Tx. where he then retired from the company. I believe we can all agree, you could always hear Roger way before you ever seen him. Although our hearts are heavy, we will celebrate his life and find comfort that he is in heaven watching over us. He will be forever remembered for his caring heart and will be greatly missed by so many.

He was preceded in death by his sisters Peggy 'Lucy' Kuykendall and Susan Kuykendall, stepson Randy Stallings, nephew Christopher Fulton, and three nieces Amber Kuykendall, and Karmen and Kameron Willingham.

Survivors include Sherry Sargent of Leesburg, Tx., son Josh Kuykendall of Leesburg, Tx., and stepson Justin Grant and wife Alicia of Hawaii, stepdaughter Kristi Wachter, and stepson Garland Tosh, and wife Kelly.

Brothers Jack Kuykendall and wife Willie of Corsicana, Ronnie Kuykendall and wife Carol of Kerens, Sammy Joe Sharp of Kerens, Tracy Kuykendall and wife Serina of Mexia, Tony Kuykendall and wife Jenny of Dawson.

Sisters Bonnie Totten of Rice and Stacy Hargrave and husband Nick of Corsicana.

Roger had grandchildren, great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.

The family will have a private memorial on December 2, 2023.
