Roger Owens Obituary
Woodruff
Roger (Rod) Owens, 62, of 3345 Green Pond Road, died December 12, 2011 at Village Hospital.
A native of Spartanburg County, son of the late James and Lillie Mae Grant Owens, he was the retired owner of Owens Brothers Steel, a member of Burnsview Baptist Church and a U.S. Army veteran.
Surviving are a son, Jamie (Cotton) Owens of Woodruff; a daughter and son-in-law, Tracy and Del Tate of Taylors; four brothers, Hoss Owens, Russell Owens, Wayne Owens and Clifford Owens all of Greer; one sister, Kathy Brown of Greer; two grandchildren, Reese Tate and Sarah Jordan Tate; and his former wife, Martha Owens.
Mr. Owens was predeceased by two brothers, Harold Owens and J.D. Owens and two sisters, Carolyn Babb and Debra Owens.
Funeral services will be held 3:30 p.m. Friday at The Wood Mortuary, conducted by Rev. Jeff Griffin. Entombment will follow in Graceland East Memorial Park Mausoleum.
Pallbearers will be Grant DeShields, Tim Cooper, Scottie Barnett, Bob Jewett, Danny Satterfield and Pete Peace.
Visitation will be held 7:00-9:00 p.m. Thursday at The Wood Mortuary.

I have know Rod my whole life. I cant believe he is gone. I know when he got to those golden gates that my papa was there to greet him. They are probably catching the biggest crappes ever. RIP Rod Owen You will be truely missed. My heart goes out to the family.
