Roger Steve Renteria

Feb 16th, 1960 - Oct 13th, 2024

His parents were Roger and Byrl Renteria.

Steve was only 64 years old when he passed away.

He grew up in Kearns and graduated from Kearns High School, where he had countless friends.

Steve was an all-around great guy, always very generous and loved giving gifts.

He had such a love for Rock n' Roll. He was very knowledgeable about who played what and would go into great detail.

Steve was also a very loyal sports fan!

Some of his favorite teams were Notre Dame, UT Utes, UT Jazz, San Francisco 49ers, Chicago Cubs and The Salt Lake Bees.

Throughout the years he supported all the local teams, Steve loved to go to watch the ballgames at Derks Field/Smiths Ball Park. Supporting the Angels, Gulls, Trappers and the Salt Lake Bees.

I think that's why he moved across the street from the ballpark. There were many nights we would just sit on his patio and watch the game and of course the fireworks on special occasions.

Steve was always a lot happier if his team won! :-}

He loved to go on road trips and was a great travel companion. He also enjoyed camping and just being outdoors. American Fork Canyon was one of his favorite spots.

He was a very down-to-earth person, very easy to talk to, a great conversationalist and yet a great listener.

Steve was very proud of having the opportunity to serve his County in the US Army.

He worked in the hardwood flooring industry for decades and was very meticulous in the work he did.

He married Lancie Christensen they were together for over 20 years. (later divorced).

Steve spent the last several years with his girlfriend Debbie Baird, who will miss him dearly!

He was a collector of all things Rock n' Roll from old Cd's to wall posters. Music was definitely one of his passions. Rock n' Roll being one of his fav's.

He collected all kinds of memorabilia from all his favorite Rock bands and sports teams. He was very matriculas with all his collectables.

He loved to wear his Levi cutoffs and flip flops. Yet depending on the occasion could defiantly look like a very sharp-dressed man and ready to mingle!

Steve was proceeded in death by his parents, one brother named Kenny and one sister named Anna.

He will defiantly be missed by so many, as he touched so many hearts with his presence.

Please join us to celebrate Steve's life here on earth on Thursday Oct 24th , 2024 from 6-9 at Valley Bowling Lanes in the lounge area 3951 W 5400 S in Kearns, UT

I just found out. Steve was like a father to me for so many years. He was a grandpa to my daughter. I am shattered by this news. I hope Steve has found his peace. I hope he knows he is loved and missed. I have so many memories show up on my social media of pictures of him.
