ROGER "DOC" WYLDE

Wylde, Roger "Doc", died peacefully June 9th in his San Clemente home, surrounded by his family. Born in Long Beach, he moved to Lynwood, CA and attended Southgate High School. After high school Doc attended the University of Southern California, establishing strong friendships through the Sigma Chi fraternity and the USC Knights. It was at USC he met his sweetheart, Elynor Enz. After USC, Doc went into business with his brother and father at Wylde and Sons Lithography. He married Elynor in 1950 and honeymooned in Oak Creek Canyon, AZ, a place that became dear to his heart. His daughters, Karen (1954) and Lynn (1956) soon joined the family. After leaving Wylde and Sons he started Allied Graphics, which became a successful printing and warehousing business. He remained a supporter of USC Athletics and the Sigma Chi fraternity throughout his years. Regardless of all his professional and academic successes, Doc's family meant more to him than anything else. He shared his time and self with his extended family, and joyously looked forward to sharing candy making, USC Football, and hunting and fishing with them. Doc is survived by his wife, Elynor Enz Wylde; daughter, Dr. Karen Wylde Vaughan and son-in-law Dr. John Vaughan; daughter, Lynn Wylde Fujikawa and son-in-law Kent Fujikawa; grandsons, Scott Vaughan, Kevin Wylde Fujikawa and Corey Wylde Fujikawa; granddaughter, Jill Vaughan; sister, Carolee Pekrul and brother-in-law, Gus Pekrul; sister-in- law, Joan Beebe and brother-in-law Dr. Edson Beebe. Doc is also survived by his many nieces and nephews that he loved so well. He was predeceased in death by his brother, Robert O Wylde. No services are planned at this time.
