Roland Arthur Bussiere

Roland "Buzz" Bussiere died May 31 of heart complications.

He was born in Lewiston, Maine to Ernest and Jeane Marie Bussiere. At the age of 12 he attended seminary in Rimoiski, Quebec continuing on through his second year of college. He then joined the USAF. After retiring from the Air Force he completed his education at night school and received his BA degree while working full time days.

During his 20 year military career he traveled to many places including tours to Viet Nam and Thailand. His namesake son, Roland II, was born in Guam while his older son Ernest and daughter Anna Marie were born in Amarillo, Texas.

After retiring from his first career in the Air Force, he worked at the Post Office including several years as a Union Treasurer.

He loved to travel so after his second retirement, he and Pat traveled to many places including a road trip across the country, a bus tour in Europe ending in a week with family in Italy. Then a ten year trek as snow birds, starting right after Christmas and coming back after the last snow fall.

Buzz was a Lifetime Member of the VFW, American Legion, and a fourth degree member of the Knights of Columbus. During his years in the Knights of Columbus he also held the position of Grand Knight.

He leaves his wife of 44 years, Patricia (Lorenzini), his son Roland II , daughter-in-law Tawnya, daughter Anna Marie Clarke, step children Paula,(Pete) John, Joe(Judy) and George. Nine grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren. He was predeceased by his beloved sister, Sister Rolande Bussiere, who died in January 2025, his son Ernest, and infant grandson, Nathan.

Visiting hours are Sunday, June 15, from 2-4 at the Farrell Funeral Home, State Street, Portsmouth. Funeral is on June 16, 10AM, at the Immaculate Conception Church, Portsmouth.
