Roland Fluet, 81, of 333 Seames Drive died January 5, 2002 at Arlington Memorial Hospital in Arlington, TX while on vacation visiting his family. He was born in Canada on June 5, 1921, the son of Joseph Louis and Leonie (Gagne) Fluet and had been a Manchester resident since 1958. He was a World War II Army Veteran and was a paratrooper during the war. He received the Purple Heart and the Bronze Star. He had worked as a foreman for Harvey Construction Company where he was employed for fourteen years until his retirement. He was a long-time parishioner of St. Anthony Church. He was a member of the League of 1000 Men of Precious Blood Monastery and also belonged to the Marriage Encounter of La Racountre. He was a loving husband, father and grandfather. Family members include his wife of 56 years, Claudine (Nadeau) Fluet a daughter, Mrs. John (Jacqueline) Raczka of Kent, WA; two sons, Michael Fluet of Candia and Dr. Norman Fluet of Waco, TX; eight grandchildren; four sisters, Rose Perron of Rock Forest, Quebec, Bernadette Vachon of East Broughton, Quebec, Yolande Gregoire of Sherbrook, Quebec and Colombe Pare of Broughton, Quebec; two brothers, Clement Fluet and Marius Fluet both of Sherbrook, Quebec; and many nieces, nephews and cousins. Calling hours will be at the Phaneuf Funeral Homes and Crematorium, 243 Hanover Street on Friday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 PM. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated on Saturday morning at 10:00 in St. Anthony Church. Interment will follow in Mt. Calvary Cemetery Mausoleum. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Sisters of the Precious Blood Monastery, 700 Bridge Street, Manchester, NH 03104, the American Heart Association, 20 Merrimack Street, Manchester, NH 03101 or to the American Cancer Society, 360 Route 101, Unit 501, Bedford, NH 03110.
