Rolando Domantay Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Sep. 2, 2024.
Rolando Palomaria Domantay, 76, passed away on August 2, 2024, in Greenbrae, California. Born on May 11, 1948, in the Philippines, he was a longtime resident of California, where he pursued an extensive education, attending Costano Elementary School, Ravenswood High School, and furthering his studies at Foothill College, San Jose State, and College of San Mateo.

Rolando dedicated many years of his career to National Semiconductor as a Senior Computer Operator. His work was a significant part of his life, but he also found profound fulfillment in his personal interests and beliefs. A lover of the outdoors, Rolando was frequently found hiking and camping in the Marin County National Parks. His commitment to personal growth was evident in his regular practice of meditation and yoga, participating actively in the community at Siddharpa Yoga.

His hobbies were a reflection of his love for nature and his quest for inner peace. These activities not only brought him joy but also allowed him to connect deeply with the world around him.

Rolando was a beloved family member, survived by his four sisters, Corey Morel, Mely Cheng, Yoly Howell, and Genie Palmer. He also played a cherished role as an uncle to five nieces and a great uncle to eight more nephews and nieces. His parents, Pat and Teresa Domantay, preceded him in death.

The Mount Tamalpais Mortuary in San Rafael, CA, is assisting the family with funeral arrangements. Rolando's life will be celebrated and remembered for the warmth and wisdom he shared with everyone he met. His legacy of kindness and his passionate pursuit of tranquility will continue to inspire those who knew him.

Our family knew Rolando in the late 80s, early 90s and he was always so kind, reserved, generous with his time and shared all that he had just to make everyone smile. I will always remember him as the tall soft spoken gentleman who loved his porsche and was generous to a fault. He was a good man and will definitely be missed.

I knew him for a short time 72-73. His black mustang drove us Santa Clara girls all over town! He had a quiet demeanor but his friendships with so many Filipinos were deep and sincere. May everlasting peace go with you Rolando
