Roman Stewart Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Jun. 3, 2025.
With hearts both heavy and filled with love, we share the news of the passing of Roman Lee Stewart, a free spirit whose warmth, laughter, and boundless generosity touched the lives of those he encountered. Roman left this world on May 27, 2025, at the age of 69, leaving behind a legacy rich in love, adventure, and authenticity.

Born February 27, 1956 to Robenia Reeves Stewart and Louis Lawrence Stewart, who predeceased him, Roman lived life on his own terms, creating storytelling marathons for all to enjoy. He was preceded in death by his three cherished sisters: Lillian Clayton (Curtis), Annie Hill (Lincoln), and Levonia Paige (Joe). Educated in the Union County School System, Roman was a lifelong resident of Raiford, FL. A jack of all trades, he began his career in healthcare and later transitioned to salvage.

In 1978 Roman married the former Maxine B Jones and from this union two children were born, his true legacy, Yasmin Stewart (Ahmad) and Roman Joseph-Lawrence Stewart (Alexis), along with his grandchildren: Tyrin Williams, Aniya Williams, Mila Gomez, Rory Stewart, Remi Stewart, and great-grandson Kaisen Williams. He filled their lives with laughter, imagination, and unwavering love. His pride in them was immeasurable, and his presence will be felt forever.

Roman is survived by his two devoted siblings: Nolan Stewart (Irma) and Joanne Warren (Charles), in addition to a host of nieces, nephews, and extended family.

To know Roman was to experience a life lived in vibrant color-a heart unburdened by convention and a soul that danced to its own rhythm. Those who knew him recognized him as a person who could make anyone feel like family.

A celebration of Roman's life will take place on June 7, 2025, at 11:00 AM at Body of Christ Assembly, Church of God in Christ, Lake Butler, FL. In the spirit of Roman, guests are encouraged to wear bright colors, share stories, and remember that life is meant to be lived fully and freely.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that you honor Roman by embracing joy, seeking adventure, and loving with your whole heart-just as he did.
