Romualdo Damasco Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Aug. 4, 2014.
Everyone's life is the sum total of all of the people they have met, the things they have done, the places they have gone. Romualdo was no exception. He was a loved one, a friend, and someone special. To family and friends who knew him best, Romualdo will be remembered as an exceptional person.

Romualdo's life journey began on February 7, 1941. He first greeted the world in Malaybalay, Bukidon, Philippines. His parents' were Catalino Revesado and Marina Dumaque Damasco. He was raised with 6 brothers, Alfredo, Virgie, George, Catalino, Antonio and Nestor along with 4 sisters Milagros, Linda, Ligaya and Esther. Romualdo was usually involved in all sorts of activities with his family sharing many life experiences over the years.
Romualdo was a typical teenager who had a fairly happy high school experience, making that critical transition from adolescence to adulthood. He graduated from San Ysidro High School in 1958 then continued his education and graduated from the University of the East in 1962.

Falling in love is a huge milestone for any person. Just knowing that you have met that special someone is a magical feeling. Romualdo experienced that with Nancy Rosario Sawyer and the couple exchanged wedding vows on November 12, 1966. The wedding took place at the Philippines Independence Church in Kibawe, Bukidnon, Philippines. Empathic and loyal, Romualdo was committed to making his new family happy.

While everything a person does in life contributes to who they grow into, it is ultimately this same person who holds the most influence on the next generation. Romualdo was blessed with 5 children, Edgar, Rona, Marla, Khalila and Arthur Damasco. Romualdo worked hard to be a good father to his children and did his best to fulfill their needs, raising his children in a positive and nurturing environment. Later on, Romualdo was blessed with the gift 9 grandchildren.

How a person performs in the workplace can be a reflection on how they live their life. Fortunately, Romualdo enjoyed what he did for a living. Showing a strong work ethic, Romualdo worked diligently and did his best to succeed in his job. Romualdo worked at Mercy Hospital for 22 years as a Transporter. In the Philippines he worked as a Post Master.

A person's hobbies often mirror who they have become. Romualdo enjoyed his leisure time by taking part in a number of different activities, including reading, watching Western movies, playing at Casino;s. He was usually willing to share his interests with others.

Romualdo D. Damasco left us on August 3, 2014. He passed away in Chula Vista, California. The cause of death was due to Cardiac Arrest. He is survived by his wife Nancy, sons Edgar, Arthur and daughters Rona, Marla and Khalila. Grandsons: Jordan, Jaycob, Kainen and Jaren and Granddaughters, Jenna, Jazmin, Jaylen and Kalani and his loving brothers and sisters in the Philippines with his many nephews and nieces. Services were handled by Glen Abbey Mortuary. A Funeral Service was held at Glen Abbey Mortuary Chapel in Bonita, California on Saturday, August 9, 2014. Romualdo was laid to rest at Glen Abbey Memorial Park in Bonita, California.

So this is Romualdo's life, the sum of the man that he became. Simply stated, Romualdo was a good and kind person, an individual who will for all time be remembered by his family and friends as being caring and giving, someone who was a vital part of their lives. Romualdo leaves behind him a legacy of lifelong friendships and many cherished memories. Everyone whose life Romualdo D. Damasco touched will always remember him with a smile.

We Miss You
Not a day that passes by
that we don't think of you
Every waking moment of our life
is filled with thoughts of you
We miss the way you make us laugh
We miss the silly things you and mom would joke about
But most of all We miss your voice.
?? We love you dad!

Kuya Romy, all we have are memories and a picture in a frame when you walk me in to the altar to marry my husband, your memory is a keepshake from we'll never part and we will always treasure. God has you in His arms, we have you in our heart. You will always be in our heart, the one we love so deeply, always part of what we are now becaus of being you for without you, we would be less who we are. Your greatest accomplishment was enriching our lives, your children lives and of all that knew you.
While there are no answer to the grief surrounding the death, we believe that life doesn't end with death, that there really is a plan governing the tragedies that we suffer, and that you is forever with GOD and that GOD is forever with us too.
As we sail through life's stormy seas, we will pray always that the HEAVENLY FATHER will give us strength to face each day and hold our frail hands until each of our family reunion someday! Kuya Romy Rest In Peace.

The sorrow of the faithful
is not that of permanent loss,
but the tender sense of sadness
that comes in saying good-bye for now
to someone we love.
May today's sorrow give way
to the peace and
comfort of God's love.

my condolences to auntie nancy, rona, khalila, edgar, marla and atoi.
