Ron Collins Obituary
Ron was a champion of many causes and made friends everywhere he went. He was generous with his time and knowledge in a vast and varied range of topics. Ron received his Bachelor's degree from the University of Colorado in Political Science and held Master's degrees in Political Science and Information Technology. Ron was a voracious reader and never tired of learning.
While in the US Army, Ron proudly served during the Vietnam war. He later excelled during his long career with IRS and he retired from government service in 2008. He was a valuable and valued public servant.
While devoting endless hours to work and helping others, Ron recognized the need for a healthy life balance. His great joy in life was golf, his golf buddies and the annual trips they took. Few things made him happier.
Ron is survived by the love of his life, Barbara Guyett, his wife of 24 years.
He leaves a son, David, of Atlanta, GA, several grandchildren, great grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews. Ron is survived by his siblings, Cathy (Jim) Sears, Mike (Elaine) Collins, Ernie Robert (Doris) Collins and Bobbi Collins.
He was preceded in death by his mother Jean Collins, father Berl Collins, and brother Keith (Rusty) Collins.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations to the charity of your choice or to RezDawg Rescue Colorado https://www.rezdawgrescue.org/Donate/ where Ron and Barb adopted their two current dogs, Milo and Lottie.
There are no services scheduled.
In honor of Ron, a celebration of life will be planned for a later date.

I will always remember Ron and his generosity bringing snacks to Block Advisors. He was a great guy and mentor.
