RON DePASCALE Obituary
Age 59, of Kennedy Twp., unexpectedly on June 25, 2014. Beloved husband of Gigi (Sommers); devoted brother of Vince DePascale and his wife, Fran (Marta); cherished uncle of Julia, Teresa, Vinnie DePascale, Terrill, Christian, and Sam Dines; loving brother-in-law of Ruthie Dines. Ron was always involved in many music functions and various organizations. He served as an officer in the P.M.E.A., director of the Ohio Valley Community Band and longtime band director and music teacher for Sto-Rox High School, Montour High School and David E. Williams Middle School. He taught for over 20 years with the Allegheny Intermediate Unit. Family will receive friends on FRIDAY from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. at McDERMOTT FUNERAL HOME, INC., 334 Forest Grove Rd., Kennedy Twp., where prayers will be offered SATURDAY at 9:00 a.m., followed by Mass of Christian Burial in St. John of God Parish, St. Mary's Church at 9:30 a.m. In lieu of flowers, donations suggested to Focus On Renewal, 701 Chartiers Ave., McKees Rocks, PA 15136, (www.forstorox.org).

I was fortunate to have Mr. D as my marching and concert band teacher at Sto-Rox (Class of 1983). His love and dedication to music inspired his students and gave all a gift to last a lifetime. He will be missed and always remembered.

We are so sad to hear of Ron's passing. He was the gentlest soul anyone could imagine with a passion for his family and friends that was unparalleled. We felt honored to be his friends and this world will be lessened with out his gracious presence.
His tireless devotion to his students will be so missed in our school. Ron was a big part of how wonderful our community has become and we will be forever in his debt for cultivating his art to so many young, eager minds. He was a class act for sure and we can only hope to take along his lesson of passion and tolerance.
Our love goes out to Gigi and the rest of his family for their loss. We hope you can find solace in having been a part of this kind, kind man's beautiful world. We are fortunate to have been his friends and his memory will live on in our hearts and minds.

Dear GiGi, I am so sorry for your loss. I have many fond memories of you and Ron from high school. The two of you were so in love. I remember being a liaison with little notes the two of you would write to one another when you taught at Montour together. Always remember that he loved you more than anything. Mr. D. taught me to read music and play an instrument in middle school. I was in the band in high school and had many great memories. His wife taught me how to type and introduced me to a computer. She was just the sweetest person and they were both great teachers. We students had the pleasure of seeing their romance blossom into a beautiful marriage. He has touched more lives than I am sure he realized.

I am so very sorry of your loss. I had both of you for teachers at Sto- Rox and my son Tyler had Mr. D for music his 5th grade year at David E.
