Ron worked for the City of Sparks as a GIS Administrator, providing mapping services to many City departments until he retired in 2011. Ron was a member of the Board of Directors for Hot August Nights from 2005-2016. He was a classic car enthusiast with a deep love for all things Ford. He spent his days working with his hands from landscaping, welding, building hot rods and most importantly sharing the love of Christ.

I have life changing memories with Ron. Rob took three of us on a mission trip to Papua New Guinea. I have pictures, artifacts and gospel experiences from that trip...Ron holds a dear place in my heart. God used him to touch and change peoples lives wherever he was and in whatever he was doing. Thankful to have known Ron. Forever in my heart.

My husband, Steve, was a water ski enthusiast. When Steve died, I was left with a water ski boat, but with no way to take it out. I had no clue about boats. It sat in my garage for years. Ron, being the wise man he was, said to me, "Anne, you may not know this, but the happiest day of your life is when you purchase the boat you´ve always wanted. The second happiest day is when you sell it!! How´s about you give both of us a happy day and let me buy your boat!" It was a done deal!!! Love that family. Patty, you and your family were such a wonderful gift to Casey and I. Hugs and love!

Patty and family.
I was saddened to read about Ron's passing.
He was a good buddy of mine back in the 70s in Reno.

I'm sorry I didn't learn of this sooner.
Please accept my belated condolences.

Oh, how sad! I was just thinking about Ron the other day. I worked closely with him when the City first started using GIS. In many ways, we learned it together. He was a very kind man and wonderful to work with. Condolences to Ron's loved ones.

My dear Maxwells, I'm so very thankful for your family. I have such great memories of how well you invited us into your lives when our boys were just a toddler and a baby. I believe Aidan found his love for classic cars from those early parades at Hot August Nights.
You are all missed with great love.... Ron all the more for his absence.

I love you guys. He's left an incredible legacy in each of you.
