I am very sad to learn that Ron Allen has died. He was a personal friend of my parents (Larry and Royal Dye) back-in-the-day, and I can remember lots of little things, like the times that he would be over at our house playing bridge, or sitting at the top of the bleachers in the OHS gym filming a basketball game...My strongest personal memory was when Ron acted as our wedding photographer in 1977--he was kind, reassuring, patient, amusing, and greatly talented not just in the art of photography, but in his ability to navigate the prickly personalities of extended family members--incidently, his photos have held up over time and look great to this very day! I can remember that he hung a portrait of one of my bridal photos in Ron Allen Photography for years, and when he retired from the business he gifted it to my mom--such a special gesture, from a really nice guy. RIP, Ron, we will always remember you with great fondness.

I was so sad to see Ron's Obit this morning. Just have good memories of Ron taking my 1st Passport photo and the times I knew him from he being a customer of mine at the Bank. He carefully made negatives from tintypes of family taken in the mid 1860's, for me which I treasure.
