Ronald Archer Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Jul. 11, 2025.
Ronald Lee "Ron" Archer, 86, passed away on July 11, 2025, in Palm Coast, Florida. Born on January 26, 1939, in Kokomo, Indiana, Ron lived a full and dynamic life marked by service, innovation, and a deep love for family and adventure.

Ron began his career serving in the United States Air Force in the late 1950s and early 1960s as an electronics specialist. It was during this time that he developed a lifelong passion for airplanes and flying-a passion that would remain with him throughout his life. His military service laid the foundation for a distinguished career in electronics and computing.

Following his time in the Air Force, Ron transitioned into the private sector where he taught electronics and later worked in computer maintenance and sales. He contributed his expertise to major companies such as Texas Instruments and Remington (Sperry) Rand during a pivotal era of technological advancement. His work reflected not only technical skill but also a commitment to progress and innovation.

Beyond his professional accomplishments, Ron found joy in many pursuits. He was an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed hunting, fishing, boating, and golf. He also had a fondness for visiting casinos and never lost his enthusiasm for flying small planes-an enduring connection to his Air Force days.

Family was central to Ron's life. He is lovingly remembered by his daughters Rhonda Mossing (son-in-law Darrin), Cindy Arnott (son-in-law Bob), and Liz Penely (son-in-law Mike); as well as several grandchildren and great-grandchildren who carry forward his legacy. He was predeceased by his daughter Lori O'Hagan; his former wife Katherine Archer, mother of his children; his wife Lindy Archer; and his parents Ernest and Mary Archer.

Ron will be remembered as a wonderful son, father, and husband whose warmth and adventurous spirit touched all who knew him. May his memory bring comfort to those who loved him.

Uncle Ronnie, was only 5 years older than myself and I remember growing up with him. He was my mentor. I believed everything he told me. I loved him, dearly.
