Ronald Bradman Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers from Dec. 30, 2023 to Jan. 3, 2024.
Ronald Earl Bradman, 83, of Bangor, passed away following a brief illness on Thursday, December 21, 2023. Born on March 18, 1940 he was the son of Lillis Riley Taylor. Ronnie was predeceased by his wife of 47 years Evelyn Cote Bradman.

Ronnie was a member of the Old Town American Legion Posr 75 for 30 years. He was also a member of the Bangor Elks Lodge 244, earning Elk of the Year 2018 -2019 which was one of his most cherished awards. As one of the original Troop Greeters, he greeted homecoming and outgoing soldiers for Desert Storm and Operation Iraqi Freedom. He was an avid Patriots and Red Sox fan.

Ronnie raised and is survived by his children Donna Burgess Sorkin and husband Bob, Karen Burgess Cullen and husband Tom, Sharon Burgess Findlay, and Anthony Burgess; six grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren, twin brother Don Bradman, brother Robert Bradman and wife Holly, sister Judy Devoid, and many nieces and nephews. He is predeceased by his son Ralph Bradman, his step-father Ralph E. Taylor, and sister Linda Robbins.

Throughout his lifetime, Ronnie had many friends and extended family and was loved by all. He had an easygoing nature and was quick to try to make you laugh with his jokes. Ronnie always loved family gatherings and especially loved watching his children and grandchildren open gifts. He would often dress as Santa for his grandchildren and would laugh when the children told him he just missed Santa's visit. His last wish was to make Christmas special for children who needed one which resulted in "Ron's Christmas Wish". He collected toys for children from family and friends and lived long enough to see his wish fulfilled for which we are all grateful.

Per his wishes there will be no service. If you would like to honor his memory the family asks that you donate to your favorite charity in Ronnies name or every year at Christmas buy one toy and donate it to a child at Christmas. He would love for this to be his legacy.
