We knew the Browns not as a teacher but as parents of children near our childrens ages. They gifted me with a visit and audio books when I had serious eye surgery. God made Ron a gift to all that knew him here on earth

I first met Dr. Brown in 1981 when I became a physics major at Oswego State College. He was a wonderful teacher with a cheerful disposition, always trying to pique our interest in the topic at hand. I spent a lot of out of class time with him during my years at the college, especially time during his lunch break while he ate his daily bagel. Man, he loved those bagels! After I graduated, I flew off into the wild blue yonder continuing in my military career, but always keeping him posted about my adventures in life. Dr. Brown was not just my favorite teacher, he was my friend; he was my wife's friend; and he was an Uncle—Uncle Ron—to my two daughters, Ashley and Amber. We love him and will miss him greatly, but we have great hope that the Almighty has brought him into paradise, reunited him with his beloved Miriam, and that He will bring us all together once again as we rejoice in heaven.

Ronald's passion for his work helped others who were not scientifically inclined to appreciate Physics. I enjoyed reading some of his articles intended for non-specialists. They were so well-written and easy to understand. I enjoyed conversations with Ron and Miriam after temple services in Owego. I miss those days!

Ron was a good friend to us and our four children; and a trusted work colleague (he in Physics, and I in Chem). He often stopped by our house to present his latest Physics demos & Jokes to our children thru the '80's & '90's. Ron and I shared similar interests in music; especially player pianos. Ron was often ahead of the "curve", as he lectured, wrote articles, and helped/encouraged women and others to enter sciences, engineering, etc.; long before STEM programs were developed. He was a very benevolent presence on campus. I loved that he always tried to make sure women scientists were properly recognized. A real loss to the world.

Ron was one of the very good guys at the college. I enjoyed our regular conversations in the halls of Snygg, our swapping of jokes. Condolences to the family - Ron will be missed.

My prayers are with the family. Ron was a good man that I will miss. He was kind, thoughtful and one of the smartest people I was fortunate enough to know. I am proud to be able to call him a friend.
