A vibrant, joyous spirit transcended this earth in San Jose, California on June 16, 2016. Ronald David Buckley born May 13, 1950 in Detroit, Michigan. At the age of 13 moved to San Jose, California. Ron was an extremely intelligent person and an exceptional athlete throughout his entire life. Ron was very passionate about cycling and rarely was there a sunset that wasn`t beaten by Ron on his bicycle. Ron's final ride was the night before he passed. Ron took great pride working as a carpenter his entire life. Ron is survived by the love of his life Monica, and four sons: David, Matthew, Joshua and Jonathan, and one daughter Genevieve, nine grandchildren, eight brothers and sisters, Patrick, Debby, Greg (belated), Connie, Michelle, Roddy, Kim and Carole as well as numerous nieces and nephews and his Mother, Genevieve and Father Rod (belated); all of whom will miss his love greatly. Ron was a devout Catholic whose zest for family, fitness and love was always contagious. Ron's smile and generosity has touched everyone he met, the breadth of which will never be known. A mass will be held in his honor at St. Christopher's Church, 2278 Booksin Ave., on Jun. 24th at 1:00 pm, followed by a celebration of his life at Vasona Park in the Meadowbrook picnic area.

Rob was such a great father figure to myself and my brothers growing up. Great neighbor to my parents. Always remember going all over the Santa Cruz County with the Buckley Family. We were so very sorry to hear of Ron's passing. He was a very warm and caring person. I will always remember us playing together as a family before he moved with his to California and his coming to comfort us when my Dad passed. Our hearts go out to Aunt Jenny and the rest of the California Family. Ron will always be remembered-he left this earth far too young. Be assured you are all in our thoughts and prayers. As an aunt of Ron Buckley, I remember when ron Buckley was born and he was an adorable boy at birth. Ron and Patrick his older brother were very close and they would visit his grandparents and me on st Mary's street in Detroit. After I was married I would babysit both Ronald and Patrick and they I really enjoyed babysitting them.

I grew up down the street from Ron and his family at the Boulder Creek Golf Course. He was so sweet to our family and often took my brother and I along with his children on adventures. We had countless slumber parties and beautiful dinners prepared by Susan. These dinners were led by Ron's prayers. Sending the whole family my condolences.
