Ronald Buescher Obituary

Ronald W. Buescher, age 82, passed away on August 2nd in Fayetteville, Arkansas. Born on Easter Sunday, April 25, 1943, in Washington, Indiana, Ron was the son of the late Arnold and Irma (Volle) Buescher.

He graduated from Edwardsport High School and continued his education at Vincennes University. In 1965, Ron married Lynetta Jo Conrad and pursued further studies in Brazil, South America, where he completed his master's thesis. During their time in Brazil, their daughter Natalie was born. The family returned to the United States in 1969, where Ron earned his Ph.D. from Purdue University.

Ron joined the Food Science Department at the University of Arkansas, where he became a leading figure in developing innovative techniques for pickle quality and production. His dedication and expertise led him to serve as Dean of the department, a role he held until his retirement in 2015.

Ron was preceded in death by his parents, his brother Bob Buescher, sister Janice Adamson, and his first wife, Lynetta Jo Buescher. He is survived by his wife, Carol; his children Natalie (Matthew) Lindsey, Wayne (Rosa) Buescher, Anna Buescher, and Adam (Kara) Buescher, all of Fayetteville, Arkansas; and six grandchildren. He is also survived by his siblings Arlene Meyer Wilson and Dan Buescher of Knox County, Indiana, along with several nieces and nephews.

A celebration of Ron's life will be announced at a later date.
