Ronald Campbell Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Nov. 24, 2024.
Ronald (Ron) Joseph Campbell, 83, of Prairie Village, Kansas, passed away on November 14, 2024. He was born on March 22, 1941, in Jonesboro, Arkansas, to Tyree and Bernadette Campbell.

Ron was a loving husband, devoted father, and generous friend. He is survived by his cherished wife of 58 years, Phyllis Campbell of Prairie Village, Kansas; his daughter, Joanna Nelson (Terry) of Overland Park, Kansas; his son, Anthony Campbell of Shawnee, Kansas; grandchildren, Luke Nelson and AJ Campbell; and his sister, Mary White (Walter) of Lakebay, Washington.

A man of deep integrity and boundless generosity, Ron was known for his unwavering loyalty to his family and friends. He had a kind heart and a readiness to help others, whether by lending a hand, sharing a story, or offering a listening ear. His life was a testament to kindness, family, and selflessness, with an oversized caring heart that was evident in everything he did.

Ron spent over 30 years as an expert electrician at the University of Kansas Medical Center, where he was respected for his work ethic, precision, and dedication. Outside of his career, Ron enjoyed working on cars, volunteering, and traveling, but his greatest joy came from being with his loved ones. Whether celebrating weekly gatherings, sharing stories, or simply offering a quiet presence, Ron's love for his family was always at the center of his life.

His legacy of love, loyalty, and generosity will live on in the hearts of all who knew him. He taught us all the value of selflessness and the importance of being there for one another. Ron's journey on this earth was marked by compassion, faith, and unwavering love for his family.

A memorial service to honor Ron's life will be held at Cure' of Ars Catholic Church, Leawood, Kansas, on December 2, 2024. Rosary will begin at 9:30 a.m., followed by a Visitation at 10:00 a.m. and a Funeral Mass at 11:00 a.m. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to Uplift Organization Inc. in his memory:

To Phyllis, Joanna and Tony,
I have so many fond memories of times we spent with Ron and Phyllis. My late husband, Garold and I traveled lots of miles with them while camping and we're thankful that we have those memories. Our thoughts and prayers continue to be with your family.
