Dear Mrs Dempsey and family, We heard about Rev. Dempsey passing and along with my family and Mrs. Dorothy Land and the Collectors Hills church. We all have fond memories of Ron and yourself and your lives in Bermuda. We all wish to be remember to you during this very sad time. My Aunt Elizabeth (Frank) Maddern also sends their deepest condolences in the passing of Ron. We didnt have an address or phone number but would love to get in contact with you.

Dear Joan. You are in our extended family's thoughts. Your family has been intertwined with ours over the years. From our connections at Mount A, to Bermuda and later Nova Scotia. Dear Joan and Family,
Many thoughts and prayers are with you during this sad time. What an important influence he was and what a privilege it was for me to have had Rev. Dempsey as my minister while growing up in Port Hawkesbury. I also often think of the time spent living at your home with three other students while I was attending Teacher's College in Truro. I can still hear "Rev. D" whistling and singing as he walked to his home from the church. It was wonderful to hear his message and to see all of you again during your time in Middleton. Rev. D was vibrantly dedicated to all in his ministry and to his family. My dad, Eric, also wishes to send his condolences. He fondly remembers the fishing and hunting trips with Ron. and working on the building of the church in Port Hawkesbury. A special and wonderful man in so many ways and he will always be remembered,

Dear Joan and Family: How saddened I was to read of Ron's passing. What a man! His spirit, his vibrant personality, his love for ALL, his fast-paced attitude, his sermons, OH his sermons...how I loved to listen to him. He was so inspiring. I remember once how he started a sermon, "smile and give your frown a rest" and then such a long pause. Always made one think. I remember the days when he came to Port Hawkesbury at Zion Robertson United and was so instrumental in the building of our beautiful St. Mark's United...I remember my mom (Dorothy MacDonald)(we lived in Funeral Hme on Pitt St.) coming home saying "what a man, he volunteers everyone to do a job" with laughter. If anyone had an impact on my life it was him. I remember his fast walk down the aisle of church on a mission, his smile, his sincerity, his love for all. I remember him at Woodlawn United and I was so thrilled he was the Minister there after having as our Minister in PH. I last saw him at the burning of mortgage in PH. I am sorry that I was not able to attend his Memorial. He will live forever in my heart and mind and in the minds of all who were lucky enough to have known him. You and your family were so fortunate to have had him. My deepest thoughts of sympathy and condolences to all of you at this very sad time.

Joan and family: My sympathies to all of you. I remember the summer that Ron and Anne stayed at our house on Wanda Lane. I got home from work one day and Ron had cooked supper for Anne and I - Lipton's chicken noodle soup with weiners cut up in it. Anne asked where he got that idea and he replied that it was on the box. Anne's reply was "Most people would read that and say 'ewww' but Dad would have to try it." I always thought that story summarized so much about Ron - he would try anything and was game for anything. As a leader, he was not afraid to risk.

Ron's powerful and passionate sermons have remained with me throughout my life. I will always remember his sermon on "righteous indignation" when he suggested that it was perfectly fine to get a bit angry when you were pursuing something good and 'righteous'. This was perfect for me as a rebellious teenager growing up at St. Andrew's in Truro, as I knew everything and was always right at that age! My prayers are with your family as you try to deal with the loss of his passion and his laughter.

Ron was one of the great mentors of my life in Ministry. His love for people, his enthusiasm for the church and his devotion to God inspired all of us who worked with him in the service of the Lord. To Joan and all of the family. I was honored to be with your family for a prayer and time of being together during Ron's last day at the hospital. From my husband, Rev. Ross Bruleigh in Ontario, I bring his sincere sympathy to all of you and his wonderful memories. Ron was the first Pastoral Supervisor that Ross had when he served at Barrington Passage as a student still completing his Arts degree. He recalls that Ron is easily the most friendly minister he has ever met anywhere. From my brother-in-law, Warren Bruleigh, classmate at Mount A and Pine Hill, he sends sincere sympathy and has so many good memories of their wonderful school days and early days in ministry. Ron touched so many people in his life and had such a deep passion for ministry, He will be missed by so many. I came to know Ron when he was serving at the Maritime Conference Office in Sackville and I arrived in the town as a thirty-year-old Anglican priest in 1974. I have the warmest memories of my various encounters with him, and especially of how much he enhanced, as one of the students, the Summer School course on Canadian Church History that I taught at Mount A in 1975. I am very grateful to have known Ron and I extend my sympathy to all his family.
