Ron passed away peacefully at the age of 87 on Easter Sunday, 2024, after a long and hard-fought battle with Alzheimer's. Born on May 30th, 1936, Ron was a second generation San Franciscan, son of Joseph and Angela Derenzo. He grew up in San Francisco with his sister, Joanmarie Derenzo, spending weekends and summers with extended family in Healdsburg at the Russian River. Ron attended St. Agnes Catholic School, St. Ignatius High School, City College of San Francisco and graduated with a degree in Criminal Justice from Sacramento State College. Upon graduation from college Ron worked for the California Department of Justice for over 30 years. Ron met the love of his life, Patricia (Pat) D'Elia when he was 19 years old. Ron and Pat were married for 65 years. They moved to San Rafael in 1964 where they raised their three children. Ron was very passionate about, and active in, his children's activities while they were growing up. In addition to his work and family, Ron enjoyed his garden, home improvement projects, bocce as well as traveling. He was very involved in his church and many clubs: Club Italia, SIRS, Native Sons and Gruppo Lonatese.

Ron is survived by his loving wife, Pat, his sister, Joanmarie Derenzo, his children: Steven Derenzo (Lydia), Mitchell Derenzo (Heather), Lisa Wardenburg (Michael), grandchildren: Giovanna Derenzo, Michael Derenzo, Andrew Wardenburg, Eric Wardenburg and Lana Rodman, and several nieces, nephews great nieces and great nephews.

There will be a Rosary Vigil on April 17th, 2024, at 7:00pm, at Monte's Chapel of the Hills, 330 Red Hill Avenue, San Anselmo.

Funeral services will be held on Thursday, April 18th, 2024, at 11:00am, at St. Isabella's Catholic Church, 1 Trinity Way, San Rafael, Ca.
