Ronald Dudek Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Oct. 25, 2024.
Ronald David Dudek, 72, passed away peacefully on October 22, 2024, surrounded by his loving family. Born April 9, 1952, in Chicago, Illinois, Ron built a legacy of generosity, hard work, and unwavering devotion to family.

In 1979, Ron moved to San Diego to work alongside his father and brothers in their electrical contracting firm, embodying the strong family values that would define his life. He later established his own successful electrical contracting company, where he took pride in working with his sons, Ryan and Ronnie. His business became known not just for its excellence, but for Ron's characteristic generosity - he always had an open door for family, friends, or anyone in need of an opportunity.

Ron found his greatest joy in his family, sharing his life with his beloved wife Denise, daughter Renee, and sons Ryan and Ronnie. One of his most cherished roles was being a grandfather to Dylan, Alyssa, Kyle, Aiden, Juliette, and Livvy. He took immense pride in watching his grandchildren grow, creating precious memories with each of them and being an active, loving presence in their lives. Their achievements, laughter, and love brought him endless joy and were a constant source of pride.

An avid golfer, he treasured time on the course with his wife, sons, and friends. His property was a testament to his passion for gardening and landscaping, where he lovingly tended to his growing collection of fruit trees.

Music was the soundtrack to Ron's life, and whether he was singing along to The Beatles or the latest alternative rock hit, his often-misheard lyrics brought laughter and joy to those around him. His quick wit, philosophical nature, and love of political discourse made him an engaging conversationalist, while his open-hearted spirituality and Catholic faith guided him throughout his life.

A celebration of life will be held at a later date.

I grew up in the same neighborhood as the Dudek´s and went to school with Ron´s youngest child Ronnie Dudek III. Ron was always super cool to us neighborhood kids and now that I´m an adult and have a kid of my own, I realize how supportive Ron was to us. At some point we all worked for him whether it was digging trenches or delivering parts to a job site. He let us use his warehouse as a practice site for our band until the wee hours of the night, sometimes the cops showed up. He was always sincere and interested in what was happening in our lives. Needles to say Ron had a big heart. Ron I will miss you so terribly, but will always remember how you were to us kids. You set the bar high for us new Dads.

My cousin Ronnie was always so Nice to us younger kids in the neighborhood-he let us play baseball with them in the yard in Palatine. Took us for rides in the convertible to Grandma & Grandpas house and even stepped in to babysit his cousins once or twice (maybe Aunt Joanne and Uncle Ron had something to do with that) but we loved it when he came over!! My prayers to the Family for such a Big loss in their lives!! From: Jeannine Dudek Jenkins

I actually met Denise first, she came to work for me, then her sister Darcy. Renee kicked in a few times. We all became friends; Denise would come to work saying I need to leave by 1:00 to play golf. I then started saying I want to play golf too! So, then it came to be, my husband Norm got along great with Ron. We would go out and play golf. Renee babysat my girls when we had a golf day. Denise and Ron came for breakfast. While Denise and I were jabbing along, we looked over at Ron and Norm sitting on the sofa, both reading the Sunday paper. Both such conversationalist. we laughed! They looked at each other and said, "what´s the problem!" My daughter worked for Ron; we laughed about it the other day reminiscing about Ron. Jennifer said "I was the worst secretary ever. I think Denise did most of my work. ". Yes, Ron was always such a delight to be around. You put up a good fight Ron! May you fly high with the angels, not the Victoria Secret kind! He will be missed, and our condolences go out to Denise and the kids and family.

When I stood up in Denise and Ron's wedding when I was around 5 years old, and I was terrified to walk down the isle in front of all of those people, hahaha. . I also have fond memories of Ron gabbing your ear off, he love to talk and I enjoyed all of our conversations. One of the best memories of Ron was taking over the dance floor, and dancing the night away, he was very entertaining, I will never forget the laughter watching him dance away without a care in the world!!

I first met Ron through Denise as her business was next to ours in the strip mall. It was during the recession and I had been out of work for awhile and Denise talked him into giving me a job. So I helped organize his storage garage and worked for him in Vegas. We all became friends and that was about 30 years ago. Ron was such a generous man and joyful spirit. He was a true friend. He will be sorely missed. RIP old friend!

What can I say about my cousin Ronnie? Although time and distance separated us all these years, when we finally reconnected and had a chance to talk, it seemed like all the years disappeared and I would have known that voice and that laugh anywhere. Of all the memories we shared growing up, this wasn´t my first memory but one of the memories that I always come back to, of Ronnie giving his little cousin his old Led Zeppelin 8 track tapes and turning me onto a lifetime of rock music! I will miss knowing you are no longer in this world Ron but my prayer to you is "May he raise you up on eagles wings and carry you on the breath of dawn. Make you to shine like the sun and hold you in the palm of his hand"
I will miss you Ronnie!!
Love, Susan

Ron was the biggest joke teller and laughed at every joke he told - which made them even funnier! Gosh, we loved that guy. Always a big smile on his face, so personable and made a lasting impression on those that were fortunate enough to have met him.
Sending love & strength, to Denise and family.
