TICONDEROGA — Ronald F. Gonyo, 67, of Ticonderoga, passed away Thursday, Nov. 27, 2008, at his residence.

Born in Crown Point, May 7, 1941, he was the son of the late Francis W. and Margaret (DeLong) Gonyo.

Mr. Gonyo was a resident of Ticonderoga for most of his life. He was employed as a truck driver for the Village of Ticonderoga for many years. He was also employed by the Sawyer's family farm.

He was an avid ice fisherman. He also enjoyed woodworking.

Survivors include his wife of 47 years, Mary A. (Vradenburg) Gonyo; three sons, Francis W. Gonyo and his wife Brenda of Crown Point, Robert N. Gonyo and his wife Holly of Ticonderoga and Frederick J. Gonyo and his wife Sue of Ticonderoga; two daughters, Tina M. Brown and her husband Don of Virginia Beach, Virginia and Lynn L. Sawyer and her husband Joe of Ticonderoga; and one sister, Patricia Matraw of Corinth. He is also survived by ten grandchildren, Nathan Norton, Bryan Norton, Ashley Gonyo, Ross Barnes, Chandler Barnes, Reachel Barnes, Roger Sawyer III, Victoria Sawyer, William Gonyo and Samantha Gonyo; and several nieces and nephews.

Relatives and friends may call Sunday, Nov. 30, 2008, from 1 to 2:30 p.m. at the Wilcox & Regan Funeral Home, 11 Algonkin St., Ticonderoga.

A memorial service will follow at 2:30 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home. The Rev. Scott Tyler, pastor of the First United Methodist Church of Ticonderoga, will officiate.

Interment will take place Tuesday, Dec. 2, 2008, at 11 a.m. at the family plot of the Valley View Cemetery of Ticonderoga.
