Ronald Grimsley Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Jun. 3, 2025.
Ronald Scott Grimsley, 67, born on December 16, 1957, in Canton, Ohio, passed away on May 14, 2025, in Orange City, Florida.

Ron was the beloved son of the late Richard Dale Grimsley, Sr., and Ardyth Mae Grimsley. He grew up with four brothers and one sister: Richard Dale Grimsley, Jr., of San Mateo, California; Donald Thomas Grimsley of DeLand, Florida; Cindra Sue Hall of Cleveland, Tennessee; the late James Lynn Grimsley, who passed away in 1993, and the late David Warren Grimsley, who passed away in 2024.

A graduate of San Mateo High School in California, Ron earned his high school diploma and pursued a career in healthcare. He aspired to become a Licensed Practical Nurse and dedicated many years of his life to working as a nursing assistant in assisted living facilities. His work reflected his caring nature and commitment to supporting others during their most vulnerable moments. Ron also enjoyed restaurant work and held positions as head cook and kitchen supervisor.

Ron was known for his sense of humor, his happy disposition, his love of music and his remarkable singing voice. From an early age, he enjoyed singing and performing, and went on to receive formal voice training in high school where he participated in school choirs and holiday programs. After high school, he continued to share his talent through local singing clubs, performing alongside fellow music enthusiasts, as well as performing with his brothers. Music remained a central part of Ron's life. He found joy not only in singing but also in listening to music, attending concerts with his brothers, and enjoying himself at music festivals.

An avid fisherman, Ron took great pride in demonstrating his excellent fishing skills to others. Whether casting a line from the shore or spending hours on the water, fishing brought him great joy and satisfaction.

Ron's enthusiasm for sports began early. He played little league baseball as a child and remained a devoted sports fan throughout his life. He especially enjoyed attending football games and cheering from the stands. Ron was also a member of his high school wrestling team.

Ron's childhood was filled with cherished memories of family vacations and camping trips. He was also an active member of the local Boys Club of America during his youth where he received his open water scuba diving certification through NAUI.

Faith played an important role in Ron's life. A devoted Christian, he often spoke about his relationship with God and the power of prayer. His spirituality provided him with strength and comfort throughout his life's many challenges.

Ron is lovingly remembered by his siblings: Richard D. Grimsley, Jr., of San Mateo, California; Donald T. Grimsley of DeLand, Florida; and Cindra Sue Hall of Cleveland, Tennessee.

Ron's memory will live on through those who knew him-through the songs he sang, the stories he shared by the water's edge while fishing, and the warmth and laughter he brought into every room.

May his memory bring comfort to those who knew him.
