HALSALL Ronald (Ron). Aged 89 years and of Nutgrove passed away suddenly at home on 11th June 2010. Loving father of Thelma, Shirley and Maureen. father in law of Eric, Johnnie and Roy. He was a devoted and much loved grandfather to all his grandchildren, great grandchildren and great great grandchildren. Ron was a well known and respected member of the community through his work as a councillor for many years and was Mayor of St Helens 1978-1979. He worked tirelessly for various local charities as well as fund raising for the Royal Engineers and Ghurka regiments. Ron will be very sadly missed yet always fondly remembered by his loving family, many friends and colleagues. The funeral service is to be arranged, date and time to be confirmed. Family flowers only please, by request. Donations, if desired, c/o the family will be forwarded to the Royal Engineers, The Ghurka Regiment and St John's Church.
